(On tap) Dark golden and hence darker than the typical German Mai Bocks. Very fullbodied with a very alcoholic touch pointing towards whiskey(!) Both malty, spicy and hoppy. An extremely solid beer. yngwie (17073) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2015
On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. An unclear, amber colored beer topped by a dense, beige head of moderate size. Toffee, dried fruits, alcohol, some banana hints and a wee touch of peaches and grass in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweet, with dried fruits, toffee and some banana. Alcohol flavor and warmth too, with a full, smooth body and a lasting finish. Too much on the alcohol side this one, but sure drinkable.

Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of matl, caramel, alcohol, floral, grass, yeast and banana. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long slightly warm, caramel, banana and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Pale golden colour. Light honey aroma, candy, sweet malts and noble hops with a cleanish aroma. Sweet malty flavour with a touch of alcohol bite. Nice hoppy flavour balances the finish out. Some citrusy hops in here as well as the light earthy spice. They match with the style surprisingly well. blipp (9373) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 25, 2011
Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Bready sweet malty aroma with light noble hoppy notes. The flavor is bready and malty sweet, with just a hint of diacetyl, toffee, and light grassy hops. Decent.

Pours amber/copper with a thin tan head. Smells earthy and toasty with some sagey elements. Tastes grassy and caramelly with a sweet caramel finish. Aurelius (5369) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 7, 2003
Pinky gold, without much head. Not much aroma -- in fact, I sniffed too deeply at the goblet and sucked some up my nose. Embarassing, that. Superbly balanced and refreshing otherwise. Lightly sweet, light citrus and hidden bittering masked the 7%ABV quite well. Light malts and gel character in the initial finish with a building, dry, hop-buzzed finish. Great stuff and probably too drinkable. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2006
Empire state building. This is a pretty good maibock overall but has some slight flaws. Pours a nice deep golden- light copper with a thin head. Aroma is slightly estery and fruity with slight apple juice, sticky sweet malts, and lightly bready. Flavor has only a slight sharp malt characteristic and despite its high abv, the body is weaker than most great Maibocks. Lacks that sharp full bodied malty sweetness. Finishes a bit fruity as well. Pretty smooth and easy drinking though. stouby (4670) - Holbæk, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2011
Draught at Radio City.
Clear golden with a white head. Aroma heavy malty, caramel, spicy notes of licorice, star anise. Flavor heavy sweet and spicy, light bitter, in a god balance. Almost full body. Exciting.
