Part of a seasonal voyage platter at the Heartland Brewery and Chophouse, 43rd St, NYC. Pours mahogany brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of root beer, and caramel. Quite heavy sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, quite carbonated. mzaar (3643) - Varberg, SWEDEN - OCT 22, 2016
Fat @ Heartland, Empire State Bldg. Mörkröd med ett smutsvitt skum. Dofter av toffee, frukt och vanilj. Smakinslag av karamell, bourbon och nöt. Nötig avslutning. Lätt mot medelstor beska. jandd1983 (4606) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2016
On tap at the brewpub. It poured a dark amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of toast, malts and a touch of floral hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, hops and some bitterness. Decent. Foxbush (2113) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 10, 2016
Draft at Heartlad Brewers in the Port Authority. The ale poured dark Amber to re color. The off white frothy head dissipated slowly. The aroma of toffee and roasted nuts greets you. The taste is also laced with toffe and roasted nuts. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. The ale finished clean and dry with whiffs of toffee on the nose. Aroma is sweet malts. Taste has an English ale taste. Overall not my favorite.

On tap at Heartland Pub, New York. Pours a clear reddish amber with an off white head and modest lace. Toasted malt and caramel aromas. Caramel sweetness is prominent, accompanied by nuttiness and a gentle offsetting hop bitterness.

On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. Light brown in the glass, clear and topped by a dense, light beige head leaving lacing. Some diacetyl in the aroma, but just a vague hint, with nuts, spruce hints and some bread. Roasted aroma with a decent bitternes, some nuts and bread. Less diacetyl than in the flavor, meaning it’s almost gone. Full body and a bit too much carbonation. Dry. Lasting finish. A decent one, nothing more. Especially the diacetyl is pulling the score down. 150624 StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2015
A slight hazy, Amber red beer with a thickish off white head. A light malty aroma, caramel and a hint of nuttiness. Dry mouthfeel. The taste is of bittersweet malt, caramel and nutty plus liquorice and a touch of floral hop towards the end. The finish is bittersweet and malty. Draught @ Heartland brewery, 8th St. New York.
