Double deuce - pours dark ruby brown with beige head. Nose is roasted caramel and chocolate. Flavor adds floral hops. Better than any of the other schwarzbiers I’ve had. Watery to sticky. Light to medium sweet with slightly less bitterness. Coffee aftertaste. This is giving me hope that this style is not as bad I thought it was. Draft at Tattooed Mom. Poured a dark red brown. Fizzy off-white head. Burnt wheat. Dark chocolate caramel malt. More bitter dry than sweet. Good carbonation. Nice full well blended flavors. Charcoal finish. Low on alcohol but high on taste. Elwood (3347) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Serving: Draft. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. The nose has a good bit of roasted malt. The flavor has fresh brewed coffee, roasted malt, with a lingering mix of bitterness. The crisp finish is very nice. Great collaboration brew. beernovice39 (3269) - Idaho, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle pours a deep dark red with a thin off white top. Scent is roasty and bready. Taste is toasted malt with earthy, woody hoppiness. Itzjerm (3175) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - AUG 1, 2012

From a bottle poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Light toast malty flavor with a quick finish. Marsiblursi (3083) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2012
(Bottle) Pours dark brown with orange highlight. Nougat coloured head. The aroma holds dark bread, grain, roast, caramel, honey, liquorice, earth, raisins, plums, blueberries, grass and herbs. The flavour is light sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with caramel, dark bread, bitter grass, resin, touch of dark fruits and berries. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with light to medium, crisp carbonation. Fairly bitter and soft malty finish. Light to medium bodied. MadRobin (2989) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - AUG 3, 2012
On tap 1/2 pint at Gilly's Craft Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD.
Nearly opaque, deep mahogany with thin buff head and good lacing that starts very nicely, but doesn't linger. .
Aroma of roasted malt, sweet pilsner malt, grain, chocolate and nuts
Taste of roasted grain, sweet pilsner malt, pineapple, smokey chocolate and nuts.
Medium/light body with medium/high carbonation.
I liked the pilsner attributes with the dark, smokey roasted aspects.

Large tan head with very good retention but minimal lacing. Black, ruby edged brew, nice lookin. Soft nose of lightly sweet malts, bread and a bit of roast and chocolate. Body is nicely medium, oily on the palate, gentle carbonation, slick and coating.Pleasent flavors of roast and light smoke, notes of chocolate and coffee, bit of caramel and butter. A tastey, fairly black brew, caught me off guard. I had a 14 hour day at work today, maybe i,m delirious?? Tastes real nice though. Finish is fairly dry and roasty with maybe some black patent? IDK? Just hit the spot. Bomber from statelineliquors. Ya happy Todd?! Emeister84 (2652) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2013
Milk chocolate, subtle coffee, and noble hops on the nose. Dark brown-black with a moderate, khaki head. Roasty with a hoppy snap, very balanced. Medium body, lively carbonation, and finishes very cleanly with lingering roasted chocolate and grassy, hop tones.
