Bottle. Moderate malt and hop notes of cookie, roasted, caramel and orange, light soap for the yeast, with background notes of brown sugar, root beer and faint dried fruit and spice. Head is small, frothy turning wispy with bigger bubbles, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy light orange/red. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bittersweet. Palate is medium, oily with a soft carbonation. Though not very IPA-ish, this is an excellent drinking beer with some great Belgian nuances. jeff789 (1408) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 14, 2011
slightly murky dark amber, thin white head... fruity flavor, tropical, dry medium finish medium body... light citrus, mild tartness, some earthy, evergreen type flavors... lightly oily body... not a very pungent aroma... belgian yeast muddles any citrus hops, but adds some light tropical fruits.. anders37 (26641) - Malmö, SWEDEN - AUG 10, 2011

Growler from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA, opened 5/15/11. Pours a clear dark auburn color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bitter earthy hops and lots of fruit notes including cherry and plum. The taste is citrus and tropical hop notes with a bit of caramel, spice and some dark fruits in the finish. Medium bodied. Quite nice. Ret12 (453) - Maryland, USA - AUG 3, 2011

12 ounce bottle, best by Sept, 2011. Pours crystal clear reddish orange color with a fairly dense 2 finger off white head with good retention that reduces to a decent lacing cap. Some lacing sticks to the glass as you drink as well. Aromas of big spicy yeast; with some citrus, bubblegum, and banana notes underneath. Some nice and interesting aromas, with good strength. Taste of big spicy yeast, banana, bubblegum, clove, citrus, and pine. Decent amount of bitterness on the finish that lingers with banana, bubblegum, and spicy flavors. Medium carbonation and body. Also has a bit of a creamy mouthfeel. Decent balance of flavors. No alcohol in the taste or finish, well masked for the alcohol level. Very easy drinkability for the alcohol level, very smooth. Overall a very nice Belgian IPA. I would have it again. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Clear medium amber, decent head fades to ring. Aroma is distinctly hops, pine and grapefruit, mixed with some spicy yeast notes. Yeast and hops in the nose not playing well together. Flavor is similar. Somewhat caramel malt. On the finish, there is a slight phenolic note as well. In the end, it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t particularly work for me either. nuplastikk (6277) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 18, 2011
12oz bottle. Amber-orange color, dulled brown. Thin oily head. Pleasant interplay between the Belgian yeast and piny hops in the aroma. Surprisingly balanced, almost has some Belgian Amber tones going on. Fruity, sugary, not as dry or bitter as most Belgian IPAs. Fruity through and through, some light raisin and pungent fruit tones. Perhaps doesn’t really capture the essence of the style, but an interesting Ameri-Belgo beer nonetheless. kassner (1663) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2011
