Hops: Warrior, Simcoe, Palisade, Centennial, Cascade, Citra
Malts: 2-Row, Caramalt, Munich

Our flagship beer, Loose Cannon wins people over at first smell. The carefully cultivated interplay of Simcoe, Palisade, and Centennial creates a most fragrant IPAits nose bursts with notes of grapefruit, herbs, and pine. Bitterness is somewhat subdued by the floral quality that pervades the taste. The color is burnished gold, and the mouthfeel is creamy. A strong malt backbone balances out the triple-hopped beer. Its nickname, Hop3, comes from the brewing process: our brewers hop Loose Cannon in the boil, the hopback, and the fermenter. It won a second place CAMRA award at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

On draft in DC. Aroma of tropical and citrus fruit. Some piney notes. A little malt comes thru. Caramel? Appearance is a clear orange with off white head. So-so head retention. Nice lacing Flavor is tropical fruit. Mango. Passionfruit. Some citrus notes. Moderate bitterness but lots of hop flavor. Fruit lingers in aftertaste Mouthfeel - good carbonation. Dry finish. Very nice. Overall - a great example of what IPA should be. Not too bitter but has lots of hop flavor. Wish aroma was stronger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(12oz bottle) AROMA: hops, citrus, citronella, fresh, some notes of pine and cloves, celery. APPEARANCE: medium golden Amber, foamy nead, mostly clear. TASTE: roasted malt and corn, some sweetness, smokey, tobacco, toast, some citrus and tartness, aged cheese. PALATE: well balanced, medium to heavy body, fresh and smooth upfront, solid bitterness that does linger a bit on the cheeks. OVERALL: very nice ipa. Good balance of chewy malts and fruity/herbal hops, touch sweet upfront / touch dry on the finish, quite enjoyable. delicious without being overbearing.

On cask, Ginger Man Boston. Deep copper colour, white foam. Quite malty, slightly crystal flavour, sweet background. Oily nice hop, some pine, some tropical fruit and berries. Defined bitterness, not obvious at first. Unusual one, not bad.

Light flavor, thinner, slight bitter/sour. Not as flavorful as I like in a strong IPA.

Pale orange with a nice head and lacing. Slightly hazy. On the nose a most interesting array of herbal, resinous hops and evident clove, bubblegum, banana and vanilla notes. There are some cheesy or basement things wafting as well. On the palate it is round, silky and full and very slightly bitter that is attenuated by the maltiness. Interesting. Not something I would personally go out and buy but unique.

Tap at Js. Clearish gold with little to no head. Light tropical nose, caramel and malt. Clean and well-balanced, but slightly syrupy with a honey and caramel like mouthfeel. Low carbonation with a soft mouthfeel. A tad boozy on the finish.
