This is an excellent and maybe underrated BA barleywine. The barrel doesn’t add too much or too little, just right. BeerandBlues2 (13695) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 16, 2012

Bottle at Peter’s 2nd annual spring gathering. Pours a clear light brown with a thin white head. Smells of bourbon and vanilla, not a lot of depth. Very sweet and vanilla loaded. Overly sweet, finishing with a lightly tart dry bitterness.

this dark decadent treat could be a prototype for a barreled barleywine. Ample oak and bourbon, but not so much the beer doesn’t shine. Sweet and deep flavors and aroma of carmel, raisins, vanilla, malt, bourbon. Very light on the hops, but appropriate. Very very nice sipping beer jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 20, 2010
