22oz bottle. Golden orange color, White head. Hightly active carbonation , rapidly cascading to the surface. Malt aroma, with fruit. Has hints of grain, corn, and a bit of straw. Tastes of a hearty, "high quality" malt liquor, with a dry malt flavor. Loads of cereal character in the creamy body. A touch of alcohol flavor as well. Finishes with a touch of grassy hops, but mostly cereal malt. Imperial Cream Ale.

Pours a nice, if typical, clear amber with a fairly thick but not persistent white head. Malty aroma has an apple undertone, nothing special but still OK. Flavor, though, is quite nice, malty and fruity with a hint of hoppy bitterness. Texture is smooth, a little edgy and a little fizzy. Overall, not Heavy Seas’ best, but still worthy of a try, at least.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a clear gold color with a decent sized head of white foam. The nose is sweet and grainy, but otherwise nondescript. Pretty smooth on the tongue with notes of sweet grain, light hops on the back end, and some alcohol. Reminds me of a top shelf malt liquor. Not bad but I am hard pressed to think of occasions where this is what I would reach for.

Dorwart (2562) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Thin bright white head of varying sized bubbles. Light lemon bread aroma with some cellulose, cereal grains and rotting grass. Color is a clear golden brown. Clean smooth flavor with some bready malts, more lemon, some corn and a decent dry bitterness late swallow. Not very flavorful. Kind of sticky finish. An ok lager. Little more body than a typical mass procuded lager but not much more flavor.

Butters (4049) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Clear golden pour with filmy white head. Not overly sweet corn aroma, and flavor has a bit more of the hop character to add balance. reminded me of some esl’s but much smoother and more complex flavor. bitterness from the hops comes out on the tail end. pretty tasty for what it was, but nothing that i’d seek out again.

Bottle. Light to moderate grain and perfume for the malt and hops, with hints of alcohol, solvent, vinegar and light dried fruit. head is small, fizzy, white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is sparkling clear light amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, the finishes moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a soft carbonation and a lightly astringent and moderately alcoholic finish. Not too much to this Imperial Pilsener, the flavors are out of balance, the aroma is simple and off in spots, the mouthfeel is flat and it just doesn’t have a very good appearance.

Small white head, short lived with minimal lace. Clear gold/light copper hued brew. Nose is sweet malts, honey and a hint of maze. Body is light, dead carbonation, cloying on the palate, tongue coating. Some sweet malt flavors, little hop grassyness, grainyness. Sweet, malty finish with a weird astringency, asperiny. Arf. Bomber from statelineliquors.
