Bomber from Bruisin Ales. Pours really dark brown with a foamy, clingy 4 finger beige/tan head. Aromas of dark malt and some hop. Medium plus body with lots of foamy carbonation. Flavor is very hoppy. The rye harshness, sorry other rye lovers, is present, there’s a strong hint of coffee/chocolate, and there’s a lot of hop bitter. Love rye. Love hops. Love this. krautberry (4) - Indiana, USA - AUG 22, 2010 does not count
The perfect beer for us. She likes Rye IPAs, I like porters. This is a great beer with malty, bread, chocolate, roasty, vanilla flavors. emacgee (4675) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - AUG 15, 2010
Rye Porter. Pours brown with copper edges and a two finger creamy dirty white head. Nose is peppery with hints of juniper, mildly sweet, a bit one dimensional. Flavor is dominated by rye, notes of juniper and white pepper. Precious little "Porter" coming through. Palate is super astringent and unpleasant. Need more than Rye to this beer. Bottle and served in standard pint glass with friend in Bloomington: Mahogany hued with a nearly white frothy head. The aroma has notes of pungent and fruity hops, chocolate, rye, walnut, bready, earthy and yeasty. The taste starts with sharp bitterness followed quickly by rye bread and chocolate covered nuts. Some lasting dark and tropical fruit characteristics throughout. The finish displays a bit of chalky and asprin like tone. The mouth feel is lively and aggressive, dry and astrengent. A solid brew i would have again, too bad the finish was not a bit cleaner however. Skeegle (566) - Maryland, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Great strong porter that’s a bit bitter and roasted and has lots of smokey and wispy notes. Somewhat harsh due to crispness and roastiness, and the darker flavors from the higher alcohol are there for support. A very nice porter, one of Clipper City’s nicer releases.

Nice moderately dry body, good cocoa flavors, fairly dry and highly drinkable. Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 13, 2010
22oz bottle. Pours a deep coffee brown with a small beige head, light lacing. Nice nose of chocolate and roasted malts. Lingering cocoa on the palate. Damn tasty. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - AUG 13, 2010
22 oz bomber-Dark mahogany/brown pour w/o much head.Faint aromas of chocolate & rye w/a little coffee. Pretty much tastes like it smells, some chocolate, some hops, a little coffee w/a heavy rye finish. Kind of rough around the edges, has some bite to it. I think this may age well, mellow out, & become really nice. We’ll see. sebletitje (10080) - Enghien, BELGIUM - AUG 12, 2010
beer of summer @ OTH.
dark brown, beige head.
aroma, malty, roasted with a strong rye aroma.
flavors, nice mix of the hops and roast along with some coffee and chocolate. Rye profile is really forward while the finish keeps a hop citrus/grapefruit that is a little too dominant.
Darkover (1538) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Dark clear brown color with a big tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and a little smoke. Flavor is pretty bitter and dry. Medium body, a little sticky, average carbonation. Ok
