Bottle. Dark brown pour with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is malty with caramel notes, dark bread, and wood notes. Taste is big malt, caramel, toasted grains, dark bread, and wood notes. Hints of dark fruit as well. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more dark bread notes, caramel, chocolate, toasted grains, sweet malt, dark fruit and soft woody notes.

22 ounce bottle, that poured a clear reddish brown color with aromas of wood, toffee, and a feint hint of Vicks vapor rub. Flavors of wood, toffee, touch of dark fruit, honey, maple and a feint after taste of eucalyptus as the beer warmed up.

22oz bottle, shared with friends. Nice, thin khaki head. Dark brown color. Lighter, smooth carbonation and drier texture. Nice bitter and light savory taste. Nice, tasty dark fruit aromas, light molasses (a good balance of it). Decent doppelbock, friends enjoyed it.

bottle. clear dark brown with a small, creamy, tan head. dark chocolate and ashy nose. bitter, ashy flavor with dark chocolate. not a whole lot of sweetness in this one. wood seems to have minimal influence. full body and thick. not as tasty as i remember the 1st edition being.

Bottle split with pat, vin and dave. Pours a deep hazy brown body with frothy off white head. Aroma is wet dog, wood, and light maple. Mouthfeel is too watery, with notes of wood, dark fruits, maple, and molasses.

Bottle. Courtesy of Mad Mike. Pours deep cherry brown with some amber head. Aroma of Belgian candied sugars, oatmeal, brown sugar, graham crackers, honey, cinnamon, and Waffle Crisp. Taste is pure Waffle Crips with maple syrup. Palate is so smooth, woody, and sticky. Pure molassess and liccorice. Great beer. Thanks Mike

PhillyCraft (7904) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 6, 2012
Bottle pours a red brown, medium beige head. Aromas of soap, head and shoulders, fruit. Taste is boozey grapes, saison, very chemicaly. Not great.

3.8
Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 5, 2012
Bomber from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, wood notes, herbal notes, coconut and something unpleasantly medicinal. The taste is toffee, raisin, wood, chocolate, wood notes, vanilla and something a bit herbal and almost minty. Medium-full bodied, low carbonation and booze is evident. Beyond the aroma, this stuff is awesome.

3.6
BeerandBlues2 (13805) - Escondido, California, USA - MAR 29, 2012
Tap at Max’s. Pours clear dark brown with a small, fizzy light tan head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is dates, plums, nutty and caramel malt with light spicy hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters and a sweet finish. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation.

3.8
sonnycheeba (6342) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 29, 2012
