Bottle, 22oz. A clear, light amber colored beer with a minimal sized, light beige head. quite hoppy on the nose, definitely not your average doppelbock. Some caramel maltyness as a backdrop. The flavor is sweet, resiny and malty, with bitterness, some citrus peel and a touch of pine cones. Full-bodied and quite dry. A decent one, but far from very interesting. 120218 brokensail (16436) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Pours a clear copper color with a nice off-white head to it. Sweet malt and yeast aromas with some bread and earthy hop notes. There’s a bit of fruity esters to it, which I don’t necessarily associate with an "Oktoberfest". The flavor is quite sweet with lots of caramel and sugar notes, maybe some hints of fruit. A bit of earthy hop character toward the back end. Medium to full in body with medium carbonation. Dedollewaitor (16056) - Odense, DENMARK - FEB 18, 2012
