3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is sweet, a bit fruity and a little skunky. The palate is thick and syrupy. There is a lot of malt caramel in the flavor, as well as some banana and yeast. Overall some good flavors going on here, but it’s too sticky and sweet for me. The finish is pretty clean but could benefit from some bitterness to balance the sweetness. The alcohol is good and strong but not too noticeable.
Rated on 02-11-2010 (Bottle) This beer forms a small tan head with a short retention, transparent orange body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The Aroma is malty and hoppy. The Taste is quite malty, rich and hoppy. The Palate is very tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, the ABV is well hidden and is very malty tasting much to my liking since I am not known as a hoppy beer drinker. generallee08 (778) - New York, USA - OCT 6, 2013
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1pt. 6oz bottle into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: The body has a deep amber color with bright orange highlights and lots of visible carbonation racing to the head. Its head is small but just hangs on to a thin cap which leaves some slick lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma is bold and full of rich sweet maltiness and boozy notes with some light citrus/spicy hops in the background.
Taste/Palate: The alcohol is quite noticeable and surrounds a big sweet malty body. Notes of warm sweet bread, caramel and toffee pop out. The hops are lighter but more noticeable towards the finish and they add some needed bitterness for balance. It’s a big full bodied beer with smooth yet still lively carbonation.
Notes: With 9% abv this beer hits hard and slows down its drinkability.

Pours with a fizzy minimal head which fades into nothing above a deep, brilliant ruby and garnet hued brew. Swirls with nothing.

Apple skins and plums. Crunchy melba underneath. Raisins and sun sweet prunes in the back. Whisper of spice in the air.
A bit on the thin side from beginning to finish. Sweet up front with a dry spiced melba toast apple skin finish. Bitter tannins in the back – plum and apple skins and leather. Spice and heat dances in the back, licking at my tongue here and there. Boozed and spiced apple and plum skins.
Okay but it sure didn’t drink like a big bad Marzen/Oktoberfest, more like an average Marzen/Oktoberfest. The Avery Kaiser is still my favorite big badass Imperial Marzen. In the meantime, I’d still drink the Prosit again.

Tasted in 2009 (backlog). Amber in color with a small off-white head. Aroma is of malt, caramel, spicy hops. Taste is of pear, malt, and hops. superspak (6015) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JAN 17, 2013
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating. Pours very hazy orange copper color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, raisin, pear, brown sugar, herbal, and light earthy hops. Nice malty aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of caramel, toffee, raisin, pear, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and light earthy hop spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, toffee, light fruits, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, and earthy hop spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance and complexity of malty flavors; with moderate hop flavor balance; and zero cloying sweetness present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice imperial Oktoberfest lager. Very nice balance and complexity of malty flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. I could tell this was an older bottle, and it aged nicely.

22oz bottle, shared with friends. Mostly clear red / amber color. Smooth crisp lighter carbonation, minimal khaki head. Sort of a sweet taste, though not too sweet. Caramel malts, some spices. Enjoyable imperial oktoberfest. crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2012
Sweet, nutty, slight alcohol, crackery, malt syrupy. It isn’t a refined okto but it isn’t terrible. gunnfryd (15290) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, peaches, hop. Flavour is grapefruit, peaches, hop, caramel, pine. OK beer. burg326 (5607) - Florida, USA - MAY 23, 2012
22 ounce bottle that poured a nice golden copper color, aromas of caramel biscuits, and some sugar. Flavor is the same, remided me of a supped up marzen/ocktoberfest style beer, enjoyable overall. fonefan (51109) - VestJylland, DENMARK - FEB 29, 2012
