3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2013 12oz Bottle. The pour non-transparent jet black with a large (2-3 finger) medium brown frothy head that diminished rapidly, leaving just a little residue floating on top which allowed for a some fair streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a mild burnt chocolate malt and a leathery yeast with hints of dark chocolate, molasses and a dark roasted coffee.
The taste I thought was a bit on the light side for an Imperial Stout at first, and had a mildly sweet roasty mocha coffee note which lingered throughout. But then matured into a bitter-sweet dark malted coffee flavor with a big note of dark chocolate and a mild alcohol finish. The flavor lasted a little longer than average in duration following the swallow, with a mildly bitter coffee roastiness left behind.
Mouthfeel was somewhat dry in texture and quite full in body with the carbonation being rather flat.
Overall this was a very tasty Imperial Stout that did a great job of concealing the high ABV, while allowing a smooth roastiness to settle in for the long hall, which in turn created a superb drinkability... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Draft. This is a very dry and raisiny imperial stout, english-styled, touch of yeasty and herb. arn8897 (447) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - MAR 19, 2017
Pours a deep brown to black with a khaki head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Taste the same with a little sweetness from the malt and molasses. Finishes clean from the hops. Very little alcohol warmth. Aromas are more pronounced than the taste. But not bad. Thin mouth feel for an Imperial. Rex_Remes (262) - Bonyhad, HUNGARY - MAR 11, 2017
(12oz bottle) AROMA: roasted malt, coffee, roasted vegetables APPEARANCE: deep, dark pour, rich/black, chocolate colored head, not ultra thick foam unless forced TASTE: smokey, roasted grain, toast, bran, some sweetness, dried fruit, moderate bitterness, touch burnt/charred. PALATE: a touch of sparkle, medium heavy body, smooth, creamy, overall nice mouth feel. OVERALL: a respectable stout. A tad sweet, but some nice rich/roasty flavors, a little bit of harshness/offness with the bitter ending, but enjoyable. Chalumeaux (1706) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 28, 2017

Pours brownish black, some medium brown head. Some lacing. Aroma is coffee and molasses. Very intriguing. Taste of dark coffee, toffee, hops. Medium mouthfeel. Not the most intense RIS, but an enjoyable beer. Ctplt777 (533) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - DEC 10, 2016
It’s not bad, not the best but It’s pretty tasty. The aroma has a lot of coffee and chocolate which is pleasant but almost smells sort of fake I don’t know why. It’s actually pretty bitter and I’m only getting some roastiness and some alcohol. It’s definitely dry, they got that part down. Overall, it’s not a bad beer, just not really my type of stout. I kind of wish the taste didn’t have so much alcohol in it, I feel like that’s what kind of ruined it for me. beastiefan2k (4082) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - DEC 5, 2016
Personal impy stout blind tasting. This was the 3rd out of 4. Here it goes: ebone1988 (2122) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - DEC 2, 2016
By far the most uninteresting of the lineup. Not thin but thinnest body of the 3 with a tingling carbonation that leads to a soda like mouthfeel. Really disperses and loses the flavors. Aroma comes off as really cheap and watered down, spit in, and maybe peed in coffee. I swear, a hint of fish scales. Flavor is mostly malt husks and again cheap old pissy coffee. And again I swear there is a mollusk or something in here. Returning AFTER FULL LINEUP: definitely the worst with some wacky fishy flavor that really is occupying my senses.
I only guessed one beer correctly in the lineup, this was it. I’m pretty sure I had this some time before and knew that it wasn’t for my tastes.
Aroma is bready, dark fruit, chocolate maybe, sweet. Appearance is dark brown, poured thin, light brown head. Taste is bad. Artificial licorice, dark fruit, roasted malt, sweet, raisins, awful. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, awful dark fruit aftertaste. Overall, bad. Bad. downender (8882) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2016
Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Jet black in colour, with a thin, beige, head. Coffee and dark chocolate notes, some caramel and dark berry sweetness, before a rich, toasty finish. Good.
