$7.99 for a BBA stout? Sign me up. Opaque pour with voluminous wet sand head, diminishing to a softly encompassing halo hung along the contours of my glass. Stiff lacing holds for a moment, then densely slides down to meet the dark body. BuckeyeBoy (7544) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 21, 2016
Aroma boasts milk chocolate mocha, dulce de leche, caramelized vanilla from the barrel, gentle dried fig and licorice. Textbook BBA stout.
Flavor exhibits the same as the nose, some more dark syrupy berry, alcohol heat blooms and creates a dry finish. Chocolatey, modestly bitter, fairly thin body (but I actually enjoy it), and a licorice, dark plum, gently mineraly graphite finish.
Three weeks in bourbon barrels adds quite a lot to aroma and flavor without being too explosively oaky and bourbony. Easily one of the most drinkable BBA stouts for a great value.
22oz bottle pours out black topped with a brown head. nose is roast malts bourbon barrel booze vanilla chocolate sweetness. taste is more of the heavy roast malts some ashtray notes chocolate and bourbon barrel vanilla. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 16, 2016
2016 bottle date. Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Even though it’s aged for a short time in barrels, it has a ton of bourbon on the nose with some vanilla bean, chocolate, and oak; follows onto the palate. Medium to full bodied. Finishes with barrel, chocolate, and vanilla. Nicely done. AWISLguy (3053) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 10, 2016
650ml bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach/Stuart. 2016 version shared with bananabi11 while watching the NCAA Championship game. Chocolate, vanilla, roast. Very well balanced. Very tasty. Very smooth. This one is underrated .... Heavy Seas best! 15.4 furthur (1169) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - MAR 31, 2016
Bottle, black, thick, decent almond colored head. Aroma toasted barley, oak, chocolate, booze, hint of wet dog, and raisin. Taste is chocolate, oak, bourbon, molasses, burnt sugar. Palate is rich and thick, carbonation moderate. The finish is pretty oaky, beer is sorta sweet in the middle, but dry on the finish.

Pours a dark brown color with a foamy light brown head. Notes of dried cherries, dark chocolate, and a decent amount of vanilla. Different. kevinsenn (2185) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 12, 2016
On tap at Distillery, Savannah. Rich creamy coffee aroma. Huge caramel, vanilla, bourbon taste. Toasted marshmallows. Moderately bitter and boozy finish. Serious business. Very good. MattMal88 (20) - - MAR 9, 2016
Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a little booze. Taste is bitter chocolate upfront but gets sweeter as it goes. A little hoppy bitterness at the end. Very chocolate taste but not too sweet as advertised. Very good imperial stout! rondphoto (4383) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAR 7, 2016
on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of toasted malt and bourbon. Opaque black color, dark tan head, streamers of lace. Taste is slightly bitter roasted malt that slips through a slightly carbonated swallow to chocolate that begins semi-sweet, then becomes sweeter as it glides to a beautiful rich chocolate finish. I smelled alcohol, but it stays in the background while drinking. Unusual in that the bitter is followed by sweet, but no matter - this is a silky smooth, full-bodied beer that has great complexity and balance. Worth the search. Aroma caramel, chocolate, roasty, vanilla,
Appearance brown, black, tan foam,
Taste medium sweetness, lightly bitter,
Palate medium body,
Overall a very well balanced barrel aged stout. In my opinion this would be a great beer for someone who has never had a barrel aged stout. It’s not overwhelming but still lets you know it is a barrel aged beer. I would suggest this beer to a friend.
