This year’s Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout has been revamped. We’ve aged it for three weeks in bourbon barrels, which gives the beer darker notes of raisin and fig. We’ve also tripled the amount of chocolate nibs and added vanilla bean. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolatey—but without being extraordinarily sweet. Mt. Hood hops contribute a fruity hop profile, with notes of black currant.

22 oz bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a medium to dark brown with a finger of decent khaki colored head and no real lace. The aroma is pretty plain. There is a little chocolate, much less than I was expecting, some light roasted malt, and a hint of vanilla. Very disappointing. The flavor is just as disappointing. There is a little more chocolate flavor. Kind of milk chocolate. The vanilla almost vanishes and the roast sticks around just like in the nose. The mouth feel is thin and light with a soft carbonation and lingeringly chocolatey aftertaste. Finishes much better than it starts ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 vintage, purchased bottle at Redstone Liquors, Stoneham, MA. Pitch black in color with a little bit of an oily sheen on the liquid. Aroma is bourbon soaked oak spirals, chocolate, and melted caramel candy.

Flavor is mild on the bourbon with overly sweet vanilla hints. The body is medium plus with a creaminess. Mild bitter coffee grounds. Pretty good overall but would like to see a bit more bold bourbon character and a touch more body. Still pretty good drinking and a very reasonable price point at $12.99.

Heavy chocolate scent and taste. Like a rich European chocolat bar.a very smooth mouth feel not velvety like most imperial stouts. Some vanilla notes. Almost milky texture. Raisin notes come out at the end. Tap

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Sweet malt flavor with hint of chocolate.

Draft: Big chocolate flavors, but the alcohol hides away in this very well. Dangerous beer... just screams dessert to me.

Apache (63) - Florida, USA - MAY 15, 2015
Very mellow for a 9.5% beer. Pours dark with a thin head. Aromas of chocolate and bourbon. Taste is mild bourbon and chocolate.

bagalagalaga (161) - Indiana, USA - MAY 13, 2015
Much more mellow flavors than other imperial stouts, actually more chocolatey than bourbony. Not very heavy mouthfeel for an imperial stout either. It is a very good beer, might pick it up again sometime but not one I’d stock up on.

baraciisch (3444) - California, USA - MAY 1, 2015
Pitch black in color, viscous pour, not much head... Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, caramel.... Flavor of chocolate malts, dark roasted malts, vanilla... Light bitterness on finish... Mouthfeel is a bit thin, doesn't carry the bourbon well ... Bummer, could have been better ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: caramel fruitAppearance: dark, vicscous. Taste: bitter, boozy, sweet backend. Palate: like a french sauce. Overall: had quite a bit of potential, fizzles, "balance" swings too abruptly (bitter/sweet), surprisingly high total score for a beer I wouldn?t buy again.

nearbeer (5671) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 13, 2015
650 ml. Pour is opaque ebony with a lasting spit of creamy foam. Aroma is charred toast, espresso, soy, booze and dark chocolate. Tastes of soy, roasted peanut, prune, vanilla, chocolate, whiskey and a touch of espresso. Just-above medium body is smooth with medium carbonation and has a nice balance. Shows a a nice chest-warming abv.
