This years Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout has been revamped. Weve aged it for three weeks in bourbon barrels, which gives the beer darker notes of raisin and fig. Weve also tripled the amount of chocolate nibs and added vanilla bean. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolateybut without being extraordinarily sweet. Mt. Hood hops contribute a fruity hop profile, with notes of black currant.

22 oz bomber poured in snifter. Siren noire is rich brown black with a thin head of light tan bubbles. The nose is solid rich dark chocolate. Taste is a hint of sweet on the fore with the chocolate cacao nib bitterness coming through on the finish. Roasted malt provides a decent backbone. Body is smooth and silky. A very well done imperial stout.

Pours a deep cola brown with a light brown head which is gone quickly.....aroma of coffee, booze, chocolate, vanilla.....taste follows aroma with the booze a bit more hidden but still present. The wood oak flavor comes through a hint of raisin, along with bourbon and a heavy but not overly done mouthfeel. Almost a refreshing big beer and quite well done.

Thin dark brown of varying sized which dissipated rather quickly. Rich malty aroma with lots of chocolate, molasses, rubber and a decent bourbon nose. Color is a very dark brown that is not fully opaque. Much livelier on the tongue with zippy carbonation than i would have expected from the head. Very creamy and smooth. Lots more milk chocolate, anise, dark roasted malts, heavy cream and a bit of accent bourbon again. Light alcohol presence. Finishes super creamy as it coats the tongue and mouth. A pleasure to drink!

$7.99 for a BBA stout? Sign me up. Opaque pour with voluminous wet sand head, diminishing to a softly encompassing halo hung along the contours of my glass. Stiff lacing holds for a moment, then densely slides down to meet the dark body.
Aroma boasts milk chocolate mocha, dulce de leche, caramelized vanilla from the barrel, gentle dried fig and licorice. Textbook BBA stout.
Flavor exhibits the same as the nose, some more dark syrupy berry, alcohol heat blooms and creates a dry finish. Chocolatey, modestly bitter, fairly thin body (but I actually enjoy it), and a licorice, dark plum, gently mineraly graphite finish.
Three weeks in bourbon barrels adds quite a lot to aroma and flavor without being too explosively oaky and bourbony. Easily one of the most drinkable BBA stouts for a great value.
