COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the most worthy of pumpkin patches and during the silence of the midnight hour, the Greater Pumpkin raises up and pours a rich deep and burnished orange color. Heady aromas of bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and clove linger seductively over the thick white head of this tremendous brew. Its love at first sip as the full malt body, dominated by British crystal malt, brown sugar and pumpkin, slowly washes over your tongue. Bourbon barrel aging rounds out the flavors with notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon. Pairs well with crisp autumn weather, crunchy fallen leaves, and the knowledge that your kids will be asleep soon so you can raid their Halloween candy bags.

22 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour is Hazy/cloudy orange with two fingers of white head. Nose is pumpkin, bubble gum, sugar/cinnamon mixture, nutmeg, bourbon, and light plum ... WOW!! Taste is all of the above, which is nothing short of amazing given the contrast. This whirl wind starts out with the pumpkin/cinnamon/bubble gum on a direct burn. This is followed by a cinnamon/sugar (sweet & spicy!) and bourbon after burn that rolls right through the finish. This is truly an amazingly diverse, but delicious brew that strays far from a typical ale, but delivers for a great surprise. On the strange factor, I would expect something like this from Dogfish Head ;)

Tasting at Papsø
Cloudy light amber color. The aroma is a mix of whatever I don’t want in a beer: soap, cinnamon, herbs. High carbonation, malt flavor, herbal, some residual sweetness, strong fake cinnamon flavor; high alcohol perception. Messy.

22oz bottle shared by ygtbsm94 on 12/13/09: Pours a clear copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin sweetness with a touch of oaky vanilla bourbon. Starts with good fullness and rich caramel sweetness with nice allspice and pumpkin balance with a good subtle bourbon character before a smoth semi-sweet finish. A pretty good brew with good complexity.

scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 15, 2010
22 oz – Hazy dark copper, thin white head. Cinnamon vanilla aromas warm to softer notes of musty wood and bourbon-pumpkin flesh-like tones. Spiced pumpkin pie crust flavors balance on hints of old vanilla oak. Faint bourbon notes emerge at room temperature. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, slight boozy pumpkin finish. Nicely done, but could use a little more viscosity.,,

This bottle is a couple months old so probably would of been a lot nicer when it is super fresh!......Nice pumkin aroma, with some light bourbon note. Taste is a perfume, bourbon and some light pumpkin. Not over done bourbon...it complimented the pumpkin....unique.. medium texture...easy to drink. Overall nice beer, huge THANKS to robert!

22oz bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a transparent, slightly hazy orange amber with a creamy white head. Nose is mostly pumpkin, nutmeg, all spice, a tad boozy. One a small hint of vanilla in the nose. Flavor is more pumpkin, but finally the barrel comes through with some vanilla, wood, a little booze. Finish is slightly astringent.
