Our "winter warmer" ale, brewed with copious helpings of English malts and US and English hops, a ruddy hued "Imperial ESB" in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering, firm hop bitterness. Seasonally available from mid October to February.

Sampled this at the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival. Imperial ESB, what a great concept! Medium amber in color. Malt aromas. Rich bitter finish. Great house beer that needs to be casked!!

MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 21, 2006
Sampled with Stegosaurus and beerded_one at Newtown brewfest. Poured a copper color with serious hop aroma. Too bitter for my taste and I really did not like it or much from this brewery at the fest.

Winter storm pours a dark amber color with a small white head. The aroma is slightly hoppy and somewhat like old shoe leather. The flavor is malty, slightly bitter, and musty. Spicey and bitter in the aftertaste.

nimbleprop (8376) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 18, 2006
Poured a clear brown with almost no white head. Smelled like candy and flowers, very interesting and inviting. Initial flavor is extremely malty and just a little bitter. Big mouth feel with a bitter, fizzy finish.

dkoonce (911) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - OCT 15, 2006
Pours a gold to amber color with not much head. The aroma is overpowering, with a very fruity scent. Sweet, with a lot of hops evident in the taste.

Tmoney99 (14455) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 15, 2006
Bottle sample at Cliffton Beer Fest. Poured dark copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate grassy citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium bitter flavor with a smooth bitter finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.

2006 version. Clear, somewhere between red and brown. Hoppy aroma, balanced and smooth flavor. Roughly what I’d expect an "Imperial ESB" to taste like.

mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - SEP 10, 2006
12 oz bottle. Deep reddish orange in color with a small head. Hoppy and malty aroma. Peach and apricot notes. Fruity and malty flavor. Caramel and chocolate notes. Rich tasting. Sweet. Finish is malty. Smooth. Nice beer. Peppery notes. Very drinkable. Enjoyable.

Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - SEP 10, 2006
12 oz bottles. Browish orange with a small head. Nice and hoppy with some english tasting malts. Flavors of peach, ash and pineapple all followed with a rich but not sweet caramel smoothness. Lively and peppery.

brewblackhole (1588) - Muskego, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 30, 2006
Grainey malt and lively aroma, a bold carmel malt and hop initial taste, followed by a wonderful hop bitterness at the end, the hop taste and bitterness get a little more prominent as yo go along, excellent brew
