UPDATED: APR 10, 2010 Cask at Churchkey. Cloudy amber with chunks and floaties, medium light tan bubbles, just around the edge of the glass. Aroma of bread and caramel. Tap at Rattle n Hum way back when - NYC. Pours clear brown with a fine, off-white foam head. Lots of rich malts in here, caramel, ripe fruits, bread, modest earthy bitterness. UPDATED: NOV 19, 2008 Fall 2008: Golden amber. The aroma is earthy with lots of caramelly malt and abundant earthy, woody hops. Sweet, with earthy nuances, lots of earthy, slightly lemony bitterness. Drinks easy, but has intensity, too. Chocolate malt emerges in the finish.

Spring 2006: Orangey-brown colour. The aroma shows earth, chocolate, a little bit of crystal malt and bright orangey hops. The flavour is robust with those orangey hops meeting strong toasty notes with light chocolate in the background. Hefty bitterness and a blast of alcohol round things out. 7-3-7-3-14 = 3.4

Bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours dark ruddy copper with an off-white smear. It smells quite malty, almost with a chocolate note. Not getting hop. Or maybe something herby/floral. Full bodied. Rather fresh roast caramel. A little sweet, but there’s a lot of hop. Floral mostly. A little thickish; a little sweetish; a lot hoppish. Yet it seems florally refreshing. Finishing very lightly sweet, but with a lot of hop. Unusual result.
