Bottle. Reddish brown and clear pour with a finger thick Off white head. Bread, chestnut, caramel. Surprisingly bigger than expected body with syrupy bitter and brandy-like finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
12 oz bottle. Interesting smells of malt and caramel. Pours a slight ly re brown with a fast disappearing off-white head. Some lacing. Nice round well-balanced tastes of plums and leather. Very low carbonation, a viscous mouthfeel and a nice lingering astringent finish. I like it HourGlass13 (1097) - North Carolina, USA - NOV 19, 2017
Clear amber colored pour, with a medium beige head, and spotty lace. Aroma is mainly malt, and some hops. Taste is malt that trys to stays big through a heavy hop presence. Fairly heavy on the carbonation. Spicy hoppy finish. Solid brew, but also heavy and off-balance. Slightly boozy. drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - NOV 13, 2017
11/10/17. 12oz bottle from Five Points. Dark amber pour with a nice khaki head. Malty aroma, caramel, toast, biscuits. Good flavor, doughy, caramel, toasted nuts, biscuits, bread, black tea. Not bad. rdixon77 (3106) - Georgia, USA - NOV 12, 2017
Thanks Danny! Malty, sweet, a bit nutty and doughy. Overall, a pretty good winter warner type beer. Bill Becker (2007) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - NOV 2, 2017

I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John!
It pours from 12oz bottle a slightly hazy medium gold/brown with a very small head of foam that left the scene quickly. Just a ring around the glass and some spotting left after about a minute.
The smell is about equal portions of sweet malt and citrus hops.
The taste on first sips gives me a very large caramel malt flavour and some alcohol. A few more sips in and the hops take their place with both grass and grapefruit and some earthy flavour is there as well. It has a medium mouthfeel and it finishes with a healthy dose of grass. A pretty good sipper here but I think the alcohol isn't as well hidden as in other brews of similar abv. Too much warming in the throat.

good looking beer.. brown/amber color, small foamy head. Smell is pretty malt heavy and sweet. Taste is quite sweet, yet smooth... could be a little more carbonated. This is not bad, but not great. floydslip (428) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 12, 2017
Deep amber beer with a medium foamy khaki head. Nose of candied nuts, dough, and light caramel. Flavor is quite a bit stronger with caramel malt, brown bread, and almonds finishing with a pronounced astringent bitterness. Flavorful beer. Beer of the Month Club selection. Clear amber with a small but solid head and spotty lace. Aromas of tea, toast, toffee and hints of leather and floral hops. Caramel malts and toffee sweetness up front offset by a hop kick that adds some bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, sticky oily mouthfeel and a sweet finish. Pours clear light brown, big beige head. Earthy, licorice aroma. Taste is caramel, hay, spicy, hops. Surprisingly light mouthfeel, but creamy.
