[ Courtesy of henrikb ]. Clear medium to dark red amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity - berry, tobacco, light notes of chocolate, vanilla and alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, and a light alcoholic finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Aroma and flavor is very nice but something makes it hard to drink !
From bottle, no 19 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours hazy brown to light orange and with a fully diminshed white head. Berry fruity aroma into a whiskey like aroma. Flavour is quite sweet and dried fruity. Almost syrup like feel and flavour. Ends with a lingering sweet fruity tone. Nice. Ungstrup (37676) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 6, 2007
Bottled. An unclear amber beer with an orange-tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wood and vanilla with an underlying acidity. The flavor is sweet wooy with notes of prunes, over ripe fruit, vanilla, and some hops, leading to a dry finish with some acidity showing up. The alcohol burns slightly in the throat. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. joergen (28177) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 3, 2007

Rating #1200. Bottle from 2005. Pours a dark amber colour with an off-white head. Malty hoppy, yeasty woody aroma. Sweet malty, licorice and woody flavor. Hints of dark fruits aswell. Long malty fruity finish. This is a really nice one.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of pineypower. Hazy, amber golden with a lively, beige head leaving some laces. Very sweet vanilla and bourbon notes. Quite a full body, a little low in carbonation, but rather high in extremely sweet and sugary caramel notes. Lots of bourbon in the finish, but absolutely no bitterness. The sweetness is a bit overwhelming making this a bit out of balance, but it’s still a lovely beer. 301107 Travlr (24909) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Bottle pulled from the ancient fridge shelves of ygtbsm94, thanks! Clear light brown color, small beige head. Aroma of vinous summer fruit and Benedictine. Taste is sweet caramel, liqueur. Very nice, and has held up amazingly well. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2012

2005 bottle. Cloudy red - brown beer. Small frothy cream - tan head. Some oxidised malt on the nose. Softish palate, slightly dry. Creamy malt, smooth. Not unpleasant sherry like oxidisation. Milk chocolate. Soft vanilla. Prune fruits in the undertone. Semi soft finish. Clearly an aged beer, but a very good one!
Bottle at RBWG 2013, huge thanks to Matt! Pours hazy brown with a small, beige foam head. Rich malty aroma, oxidized malts, caramel and toffee, brown sugar. Big sweet flavor, deep brown sugar and toffee, raisins, some light earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich, sweet finish, lots of dark sugar, raisins, brown sugar, dark fruits, some honey. Has aged very well. Loads of depth. fiulijn (20516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 3, 2007

Cloudy dark amber-red color. Strong oaky aroma, mellow, with sweet tobacco. Sweet brew, with an interesting woody and vanilla flavor, full malty, with a light sourness that I have to understand if it’s nice or disturbing. Inprecise, but overall, deeply pleasant for me.
