Bottle, bought in Poland. [thank you, Aga]Mariusz (12304) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2012
Pours a nice deep mahogany brown with a great staying small creamy head on top. Good duration, but limited lacing. Aroma is mildly sweet with nutty and caramel tones. Quite full and creamy. Flavour is very sugary sweet, light caramel. Not particularly nice, sadly. Far too sweet for me.
Dark brown beer. Roasted malts in aroma. Flavor of roasted caramel malts, some smoky, dry finish. Test of 18.05.2007. leaparsons (10865) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2007
Bottle. Black with a small head. Aromas are roast malts with nutty and dry with cocoa. Flavours are chocolate and bitter coffee with sweet dark syrup. Quite thick on the palate. Fairly decent. MoritzF (10199) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2006
(bottle) Dark brown colour with a bubbling beige foamy head, leaving some lace. Sweet and dusty malty aroma with candied orange peels and dark chocolate. Sweetbitter flavour, light to medium body, smooth carbonation. Toasted and dark malty taste, notes of dark chocolate; slim and light bitter malty finish. Unfortunately a bit thin Dunkel with a strange aroma, anyway quite drinkable. (Many thanks to bierkoning for the sample !) JorisPPattyn (10121) - BELGIUM - DEC 20, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2008 Small darker beige head over fully opaque red-brown beer. Creamy nose, hazelnut-chocolate spread, sweet bread, milkchocolate, and some dry instant coffeepowder. And brown sugar. Surprising lactic-sourish edge to sweet, but also roasted and even lightly smoked touches on milk chocolate. Mainly sweet, Traubenzucker , but glimpses of hopbitterness come peeping around the corner. Pretty balanced. Slick, light to medium bodied, but not empty. Nice, if somewhat unusual Schwarz. Thanks to DeanS!

Bottled. A very dark brown coloured beer, almost black, with a decent tan coiloured head. The aroma is fuill of chocolate and dark, dark bread. Really great malts. The taste is pretty good too. Very bready and a bit milky. Long full finish. Really smooth. Tasty and quite the surprise. Hansen (8621) - Assentoft, DENMARK - MAR 21, 2010
Dark amber colour. Clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is roasted, caramel, light hoppy. Moderate sweet flavor, moderate bitter finish. Syrupy texture. Soft carbonation. Sigmund (8030) - Tau, NORWAY - FEB 9, 2010
500 ml bottle, a gift from my son Steinar (bought in Poland). Brewed by Herrnbräu in Ingolstadt, Germany. ABV is 5.2%. Extract 12,5%. Pasteurized. Beautiful deep copper to chestnut colour, big to moderate cream-coloured head. Very malty aroma, notes of caramel, rye bread and bakery. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is also malty and sweet with notes of caramel and rye bread, also a slight roastiness. The hops in the finish are very moderate, but sufficient (together with the roastiness) to balance the sweetness and make the beer very drinkable.
