Moravius (1370) - Berlin, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2017
„Annafest Bier“, Flasche (50 cl) von Grabsch, Berlin. - Tiefdunkles Goldbraun, klar.

Bottle. Beautiful clear amber color with tan head. Aroma is buttered caramel, strawberries, some rural earthy flavours, seems like it’s going to be sweet. Taste is then surprisingly light-footed, with light notes of strawberry cream and caramel. Natural carbonation, Franconian softness. Quaffable and fun!

Cerbier (825) - - AUG 5, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2017 0,5l Flasche. Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Hefe, schmeckt malzig, etwas muffig.
Earlier Rating: 5/1/2015 Total Score: 2.4
0,5l Flasche.

Chopper925 (585) - Gross Gerau, GERMANY - DEC 31, 2015
Bottle. Clear amber brown color, small white head. Mighty malty nose, floral hop notes. Sweet taste, with a good balanced bitterness. More caramel malt aftertaste. Medium body, fresh carbonation.

Pour an amber-brown color. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, bread and some sweetness..

Bottle from Erlangernick, thanks Nick. Clear mid brown amber lasting beige head. A bit Marzen on the aroma. Malty. Some decent hop. Funny it’s not as sweet as some. It’s fine, quite drinkable. Easy drinking. Not much hop on finish but I like the malt.

My crate of this has alternated between smooth, sweet-tooth-malty beauties and unfortunate diacetyl bombs. I rate the good ones here. Scratches that holiday comfort itch with a mellow light-caramel sweetness on medium body. Lovely light amber color. Welcome edge of alcohol warmth.

Draft at Kellerwald as Hebendanz Annafestbier.
Sweet, apple-y, a little metallic and it tends to smell like the croc, really. Seems young and rough and not lagered long enough. Medium-light body, sweet, a little syrupy, malt in the finish is baked bread and saccharine. Minimal hop bitterness, little aroma either.

wastl (130) - GERMANY - APR 8, 2014
Although it is called a Festbier, it is available the whole year round I think. Never liked the looks of this bottle, strangely styled picture of Forchheim in ugly colors. Clear brown color, head vanishes quickly, not a lot of carbonation. Smells heavily malty. Rather sweet on the onset, slight bitterness, strong malty aroma, roasted, little bit of coffee, dark bread. Not very well balanced. Finishes slightly metallic, but malty flavors stick to the tongue. Body could be more pronounced, not really a beer to remember.
