UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 12oz bottle pours a dark ruby red copper color with a thick fluffy off white head that leaves great lacing. Smells of rye, pine, and resin and grapefruit. Tastes of all the same things in the smell and is definitely boozy enough to taste the high abv. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and creamy with good carbonation. Overall this is a really tasty ipa. I like the way the rye goes well with the hops. The only downfall is the boozyness.
12 oz bottle. Pours dark amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, citrusy hops and ripe fruit. Body is full and slightly crisp. Smells of bread sweet malts Orange pulp and slight booze scent. Dark red amber color. Sweet malt come out at first then hoppy citrus fruits with a wine like finish a taste that I dislike but can handle cause it’s suddel. Medium sticky body with lite carbonation. Visual: (cellared for 4 years). Pours deep mahogany brown with a long lasting ultra-creamy small head, sticky micro lacing, super fine layer of 1mm retention, clusters of snail speed streams near the surface.
Nose: toffee barley malt. (lvl-4)-pungency
Attack: superfine creamy smooth, thick-dense mouthfeel, suspended micro CO2
Mid-palate: grapefruit bitter hops, (lvl-5-sweetness), toffee toasted barley malt, resiny, trace metallic
Finish: sweet-heavy alcohol hit, dry rye malt.

A: Pours a deep amber color forming a medium and persistent tan head with lots of lingering lacings left in the glass.
S: Nose is a must for rye beer lovers: It smells rye! :). Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, pine, resin, grapefruit.
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Rye, caramel malts, grapefruit, resin, pine, zest. Intense and persistent hop bitterness punch finish.
M: Heavy body. Average carbonation. Rye, grapefruit, resin, pine, zest in the aftertaste.
O: Good drinkability. Great Rye IIPA!
