22 ounce bottle into snifter; Batch 1, bottled on 3/6/2012. Pours nearly pitch black; hazy very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, fig, date, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, chocolate, rye, bourbon, vanilla, oak, light pepper, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity, malty, and barrel notes. Taste of raisin, fig, date, prune, molasses, toast, toffee, caramel, dark bread, chocolate, rye, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light herbal spiciness, and roasted earthiness. Lingering notes of dark fruits, molasses, toast, toffee, chocolate, rye, bourbon, oak, vanilla, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice flavor complexity and balance of fruity, malty, and barrel notes; barrel strength is just enough without being overpowering; with some slight cloying sweetness present after the finish, but not bad at all. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very slick, creamy, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel blended strong ale! Great balance and complexity of fruit, malt, and barrel flavors; and extremely smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 6, 2013
Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nice aroma of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, and dark fruits. The funkiness adds some leathery notes and a slight dryness. Nice sweetness up front on the palate. Caramel, chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla. Lots of wood, light Brett, and a drying leather note. Plenty of dark fruit, particularly raisins. Brewdork (228) - Sanford, Florida, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Pours deep brown with the thinnest of white heads. Aroma is dark malt, raisins, vanilla and wood. Flavor is very heavy malt with hints of wood. A bit sweet for my taste. wxman (1820) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2013
On tap at Global Brew. Pours a dark opaque brown with a minimal light tan head. Aroma is earthy, fruity and grassy. Taste is sour, tart, dried dark fruit and the sweet caramel malt in the background trying to assert it self with the dominant sour. Also, and maybe this is the funky, there is a Belgian wild yeast funk to it as well, but that is good! Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - FEB 18, 2013
A thin tan head on a black body.
The aroma is wood, molasses, alcohol and chocolate.
Well, the taste is outstanding. It’s amazing that this is a blend of six barrel aged ales and that it tastes this good. Where to begin? There are bits of every one of the six beers in this one beer and they all play together nicely.
The texture is smooth with low carbonation.

Sample pour of deep dark murky black with healthy khaki head. Nose is boozy, sweet and dark malt. Flavor is boozy also with healthy sweetness and some sweet fruits. Maybe raspberries... Little too sweet for me.. Lighter medium body with little to no lacing. thomas15 (689) - Alabama, USA - FEB 12, 2013

Clear black with a thin beige head. Funny bretty nose with lactic acid, dark sweet maltiness, raisins, and rain. Flavor is fruity and funky, with some cherry and figs and oak and Brett yeast and molasses and toffee. jfrands (2) - - JAN 24, 2013 does not count
Obviously not my cup o... beer. Funky indeed, to me tastes like sourdough bread mash made with wine. Poured it down the drain Oscbert (1306) - Lincoln, California, USA - JAN 16, 2013
~Strong sweet alcohol aroma with acidic sour cherry notes. Bourbon and woody vanilla
~Pours brownish black with small bubbly brownish head.
~Sour and sweetness in flavor with oak, molasses and caramel.
~Full bodied, with med low CO2, Linger sweet sour stickiness in finish.
~Syrupy and sweet on this one. Really not all that peasant to drink. Taste like an english barleywine that became soured.
