Very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of sweet pomegranate, wood, chocolate, rye bread, prunes, bourbon and spice. Taste is rich and sweet, very slightly bitter, woody, and full of dark fruit. Low carbonation, oily, full body. A little dry. I thought it would be way too muddy with all those beers in it, and it is perhaps a tad sweeter than I’d like, but it comes off pretty well. Ratman197 (14822) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of prunes, bourbon, fig, toffee, rye and spice. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of prunes, bourbon, rye, oak and toffee with a smooth lingering dark fruit finish. Thisis12ptfont (1191) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - APR 19, 2013
Immense oak, bourbon and merlot aroma. Thick, black color with a thin tan rim. Insanely complex flavors of aged oak, smokey bourbon and roasted rye overtones. Other subtle flavors include dates, wood, burnt sugar and roasted caramel. Overall, such an intensely complex brew with strong, dark roasted flavors and a huge alcohol burn on the end. I’d give this an A+ rating. camborne (656) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - APR 15, 2013
Wow alot going on here. Sweet smelling. Sweet and sour taste. pomegranate is present for sure. Many other fruit flavors along with some wine notes. Overall a sipping beer that was just to much for me. Ryborne (53) - - APR 15, 2013

Pours a very dark brown with med tan head. I smell malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and some tart sweet fruit. I taste all of the same! It’s kind of sweet and sour, very complex. Damn Good!!! drjay44 (3706) - Salida, Colorado, USA - APR 7, 2013
650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, with moderate lacing, over a clear, dark brown/black (SRM 40) body....nose is fruits including pomegranate, plum, raisin, brown sugar, hints of whiskey....taste is sweet with tones of molasses, pomegranate, plum, brown sugar, raisin, hints of coffee, cocoa, chocolate, light whiskey, vinous tones, finishing with light bitterness.....mouth feel thick, quite sticky, mildly astringent, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds light tingle. This is a rich, very sweet, complex, voluptuous beer, that is reminiscent of many dessert wines. It would not be good in a desert. The sweetness, although with many layers, dominates. This is not a beer for those who like dry, hoppy, clean finishing beers. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7 maley1 (1273) - Calgary, CANADA - APR 6, 2013
Dark brown pour with small tan head that quickly fades. Aroma of chocolate, malts, molasses, vanilla, caramel and red wine. Taste of malts, caramel, vanilla, molasses, ripe red fruits. Slightly tart and sour in the background. Lots going on in this one, very enjoyable all round. OmegaX (1374) - Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Awesome stuff. On tap at Oblivion. Nose is big pomegranate, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, molasses, and chocolate/roast. This beer is almost chewy. Thick, black, motor oil pour. Taste follows up like the aroma. Big time red/dark fruits with plenty of chocolate and bourbon, some nuts, caramel, vanilla, and a touch of alcohol. Very rich. Great stuff. j12601 (11571) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Bottle shared with Mike and Tom. Pours a clear ruby tinged brown amber with a thin white head. Big funky sour fruit on the nose. Bourbon, vanilla and wood. Medium bodied, sweet and warm, bourbon and toast, none of the sourness from the nose carries over. Warm and fruity. Chewy tannins. Warm bourbon on the finish. Lingering bourbon and plums. Faintest hints of funkiness at the end. Wonder if this would get some more depth in year or two.
