Sample @ GABF 13. Pours a clear reddish brown beer with a medium sized beige head on top. Aroma is funky, doughy and had some roasted characters. Flavour is very sour, tarty and funky. Big oak and cherries going on here. Very nice surprise, didn’t see it coming. mansquito (6437) - Nueva York, New York, USA - SEP 28, 2013
The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is bourbon, cherry, sour funk, and a bit of hops. Taste is straight strange. It seems like a Flemish red at first, but very quickly turns into something stranger once the whiskey and malt flavors start to kick in. Good balance, but still obviously a combination of a whole lot of different beers. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Wow. This thing is pretty awesome. Dark cola pour with fair ring of tan head. Smells hotter than the actual taste, which is surprisingly smooth despite the abv. The aging has smoothed this out quite nicely. Uber sweet molasses and tobacco and fig and grape juice notes. Maybe just a touch too fruity for my taste, but still really good. i think the 2012 was just a little better though. SudsMcDuff (8429) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Pretty funky i guess, pours a deep brown.. Lacing is bully! ..balanced malts and tartness .. . Mouth is quite full .. . Pretty interesting brew .. . . Whenever I tell the cashier to ‘keep the change’, it takes everything in my power not to call them a filthy animal.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruits. This one is interesting. Plenty of sourness along side the oaky barrel aged flavors. Does not really work for me. But not a drain pour either. tomciccateri (1034) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - SEP 8, 2013
750ml capped brown bottle from the brewery. Pours an opaque dark brown with no head. Medium-bodied with a slight molassas character. A lot going on, overall a sweet malty flavor balance. OKAY combination of so many beers’ flavors and aging environment. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Bottle from City Beer. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and a plum and treacle aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses and raisin flavor with a sweet alcohol finish. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Bottle:   Deep deep brown, dark brown hues, thin sudsy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Hmmm, slight Sour Red/Brown like funky sourness on the nose.   Sweet fruity sourness on the tongue.   This really is like a soft Sour Red/Brown.   I do not think this is what was intended at all.   Not sour per say, but very tart.   Underlying fruitiness, both light and dark.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Very light barrel aging on the finish.   Somewhat of a weird beer, a light Sour Red/Brown that seems barrel aged.   Four months old and it does this?   Strange... suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - AUG 15, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 19, 2013 Dark brown pour. More black. Small tan head. No lacing. Nice aroma of acetic sourness and molasses. Maybe too much molasses. Taste is the same with chocolate. A bit sour but way too much sweetness.
