650 mL bottle. Don’t know why I expected this one to be lighter coloured. It’s brown. Small brown head. Bizarre aroma has roast and funk up front. It actually smells like a bunch of different beers blended together. The sour hits you first, and you’re thinking, hey, this is pretty good. Then you get hit with all this other, sweeter stuff. Chocolate and all. Big in a weird, small way. Very, very interesting. Cirrhosis (1283) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 26, 2013
Dark cola brown with a creamy cap floating on top. Prunes, a funk I’m not sure about, daaaaa the only thing I can think of is old urinal but that’s too harsh sounding. Taste the bourbon, taste the rye, the bourbon is better. So very sweet! Christmas spice is showing up now when warm. Thick and syrupy. Beer is not doing it for tonight, I’m sorry I’m really trying to like this beer but I’m not. dfinney23 (3366) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Sounds like it should be a muddled mess but this is some expertly blended stuff. Quite fruity with plum and apple, butterscotch and oak. dogfishho (669) - Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA - JUL 18, 2013
You’d never figure that a blend of these beers would end up as this deliciously tart concoction. The aroma is a bit funky with some dried fruit, sour apple, and cocoa. The flavor is initially very tart but raisins, apples, cinnamon sugar, and some red wine tannin. Really interesting and complex. ChainGangGuy (4897) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUL 4, 2013

Bottling Date: 2/18/2013.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a tall, surging, medium tan head. While it does quickly settle, it doesn’t quite evaporate on you.
Smell: Sweetish, malty with varied, churning notes of roasted barley, caramel, baker’s chocolate, toasted bread crusts, and nuts all cut by a jutting tartish fruitiness that, when co-mingled with the sweetish tones, has a quality like a good quality balsamic vinegar. I’m on-board with this one.
Taste: Roast, caramel, and some noted nuttiness with a fair degree of sweetness, but, there’s a very quick jolt (just like in the nose, BANG, it’s there) of tart fruitiness akin to a gulp of sangria. Interspersed with an agreeable bourbon barrel quality. A little earthiness underneath it all, with a low tone of black pepper. A little late-arriving vanilla and rye. Takes on the vinegary quality on the back half and into the semi-sweet, smooth, agreeably warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: A pleasing beer and another quality release from the good folks at Shmaltz.
Draft at pizza plant. Dark Brown pour with a thick creamy khaki head. Funky nose with raisins and some plum. Taste is really sweet with Apple, funk, raisins, slightly bitter. Long gradually bitter finish. Sperine (283) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 23, 2013
On tap at Toronado San Francisco. One of the most interesting beers I have ever had. I never would have expected a ridiculous beer mash up like this to be so damn good. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 18, 2013
