Draft at pizza plant. Dark Brown pour with a thick creamy khaki head. Funky nose with raisins and some plum. Taste is really sweet with Apple, funk, raisins, slightly bitter. Long gradually bitter finish. ellolovey (483) - Georgia, USA - JUN 5, 2013
22 oz bottle. Bottled 02/18/13 Thick dark brown pour with amber highlights. Thick solid mocha colored head. Strong aroma of bourbon, whisky, sweet caramel, dark fruits, and the barrels. Taste is much of the same. Super sweet dark fruits, hint of funk, loads of bourbon. wood, whisky comes in on the finish. Interesting. A little too sweet for my liking. Super dry finish. 22oz of batch no. 2 (1492 cases) bottled on 2/18/2013 @ 55° into TeKu; Coffee bean body beneath a tightly structured 2.5” khaki head fading to a solid ring and a few islands with several spatters of lace and alcohol; Playful bourbon and rye whiskey complimented by juicy red and purple fruits backed by layers of caramel chocolate, coffee, black licorice, and creamy vanilla barrell nuances, cohesive aromatics and flavors from a silky, highly coating medium-heavy mouth lending a touch of warmth and tartness to play off solid sweetness; lively, interesting and delicious libertine (434) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - JAN 30, 2014
okay your going to think im nuts here but im going with rhubarb pie. this is more of a sour than anything. very tart. would have to say the pomegranate strong ale is definitely the beer that stands out of the beers this is mixed with. not a big fan of sours so i cant be fair in my rating. but it is what it is and i usually dont rate tart beers very well. this one is pretty good and you would never know this is over 9 percent,

650ml bottle into a Samuel Adams glass; served cool.
Aroma: Moderately sour. Mild chocolate. Definitely funky.
Appearance: Opaque dark brown body with a creamy tan head. Not great lacing.
Taste: Pretty sour stuff. Tart and sour. That’s all I’m getting. It’s good, just super super sour.
Palate: Medium-full body, low carbonation. Long, sour finish.
Overall: Pretty nice. I wasn’t expecting it to be this sour, but it was a nice surprise. Good stuff.

Very strange, sour, almost overwhelming, but so worth it. Bottled 2/18/13, in my father-in-law’s fridge a while, sharing w/ my brother in law. Great aroma of tart fruit. Flavor is rich, complex, sour, alcohol, tart fruit, Dr. Pepper, sour, very strong start to finish. GSH1976 (307) - Delaware, USA - JAN 5, 2014
Pours a dark brown with a small mocha colored head and minimal lacing. Funky is definitely the perfect adjective to describe this one. The aroma is sour apple/cherry from the brettanomyces and oak from the barrels. Taste is very tart and sour with subtle hints of sherry and bourbon. I hadn’t looked at any reviews prior to tasting this and was surprised at just how strong the sourness is. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Interesting. Pours black out of bottle. No real head or lacing. Wow totally not what i was expecting. Has aroma of funk and cherry. Taste is sour cherry. I hate it and like it at the same time. AxlLives (288) - Maryland, USA - MAR 15, 2013
22 oz bottle - pours dark brown-black, huge, thick tan head, fairly lasting, with slight lacing. Big immediate sour notes on the nose, sour cherry and slight chocolate undertones. Taste is bright and big and lively. Very different than what the nose belies. Bright citrus notes, giving way to chocolate, then some oranges, finishes with a molasses berry note. Very unique. Medium-full bodied, long somewhat sticky finish. Crazy beer, funky fer shark.
