12 ounce bottle, no dating on the bottle that I could find. Served in a pint glass, this one was a gusher as soon as I opened the bottle. The head was huge and I had to let it settle down for a while before I drank it. The brew smelled mostly like citrusy (citrus peel, grapefruit) and pine hops, and some caramel and bready malt. I thought the taste was pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some tea, earthiness and dried fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s coating and is well carbonated. I liked this brew a lot, but at 5.5% it seems a bit strong for a "session" ale. But that’s not a complaint at all, however I would like to try this one fresher next time. I got this bottle from a friend so I really have no idea how old this bottle was. But it’s certainly worth a try! rondphoto (4487) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - APR 13, 2015
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY ---Clear dark amber, white head cover, strings of lace dots. Taste is a quick shot of caramel that is followed quickly by a solid hop presence that stays right through a medium finish that has an unsweetened tea thing going on the back end. A big brew for 5.6%, and light enough to have several. Beerdedone (3432) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 28, 2015
Bottle. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma was bready with caramel, citrus and pine. Flavor of pine, bread, citrus, grapefruit, caramel and had some fruitiness. degbert (1776) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 21, 2015
Bottle. Pours a dark gold with a high, pillowy, lacy, off-white head. Nose is tangerine, red grapefruit, and honestly not much else. Some hops up front, followed by mild citrusy sweetness. Carbonation is low. Finish is, again, mild with a little hops and an interesting fresh strawberry note. There’s just not a lot to this beer -- I kept wanting a volume control so I could turn it up. Pours Clear copper color with long lasting white head. Aroma is grainy, a bit of roast malts, a bit of a macro feel to it. I don’t get much hop aroma. Taste is caramel malts, grain, faint floral hops. Slight bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not a bad beer, but really doesn’t stand out. I wouldn’t seek this out.
