Great, big American IPA. Lots of hops and bitterness, looks great in the glass and the aroma is perfect. Overall a terrific beer. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 3, 2012
Yep I like big American IPA’s, this one looks good in the glass, smells even better and the taste is what I am after, hoppy and bitter. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Bottle @ home, picked up at Liquor Max Loveland. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a cream colored head. Mild garlic, piney, earthy hoppy, mild grapefruity aroma. Somewhat spicy, orange/grapefruity, onion, a bit tangy, rich pale malty flavor. Pretty good. jjuf1853 (1302) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Draft at Gainesville House of Beer. Pours a cloudy copper Orange color with a mid sized whitish head. Aroma has a ton of citrus pine hops with notes of pineapple. Flavor is nicely hopped with an excellent bitterness in the finish. Very tasty. Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - AUG 31, 2012
THOUGHTS: This one was all about the hops. But it was more about the hop flavors than the hop bitterness. Although it was nicely bitter, too. But not overwhelmingly so.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark, brownish amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma had light to moderate caramel malt; heavy resin hops; less pine and citrus hops; and maple syrup. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet and bitter and lightly acidic with an average to long duration. There was caramel, orange hops, pine hops, tons of resin hops, other citrus hops and maple syrup. The medium body was sort of oily and then dry with sort of soft carbonation and lightly astringent and slightly metallic finish.

22 oz bottle pours a clear reddish amber with a frothy white head and some lacing. Smells like a normal IPA, with citrus hops. Aroma is as expected, with more citrus and piney hops, a bit of spice, and just enough caramel malts to keep things together. Medium body with average carbonation. Taste is initially sweet and carmelly, with a slightly bitter finish. I would rather call this a slightly above average IPA than call it "the chosen beer". This one doesn’t part the Red Sea for me, despite the label hype. At the risk of sounding anti-semitic, I’ll say that it’s good but not miraculous in the crowded field of IPAs. ilovedarkbeer (2752) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - AUG 29, 2012
Pours an orange color with a foamy off white head. Total citrus and floral bomb with a burnt finish. Nothing really stands out. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 27, 2012
A - Pours a fairly clear amber-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, mango, orange, floral, and pine hops with some sweet caramel and almost bready malts.
T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, and orange hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some floral and pine hops come through with some more bitterness and some bready malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit, citrus, and pine hops with some bitterness and some sweet bready malts.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice hoppy IPA. Good hop profile and bitterness with a good hop and malt balance. McGarnigle (656) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 27, 2012
Growler. Hazy orange/amber. Slightly bitter with nice hop bite. Piney but also a warmer citrus (Citra hops?). Finishes dry. Doesn’t do anything that hasn’t been done before, but a flavorful IPA nonetheless. JoeinDahlem (1604) - Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 27, 2012
A well-above-average American IPA that nails its hop aroma and moves on with its day. Big tropical-fruit-hop nose and a juicy hop flavor stuck between some resinous bitterness and reasonable caramel sweetness.
