3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled a few months ago out of a bomber. A big time malty brew followed up with a genuine hop palate. Great stuff.
Pours copper color with foamy white head. Strong hop aroma with some pine and citrus as well. Hop, pine, citrus and some malt flavors. Medium body with very bitter finish. Pretty standard IPA. FROTHINGSLOSH (7879) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 29, 2012
There was potential here but the beer was really too subdued. +++Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet pineapple, grapefruit and orange. The flavor was bitter, tangy and sour with faint fruit cocktail, pear, a touch of pine and bread. The finish was medium length tangy grapefruit, pear and pine. Medium body. Ok but I was hoping for more. tmoreau (4410) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JAN 9, 2012
On tap and snifter served at Lunar Brewing Co., showing a hazed, orange/amber color, with soft white, silky head foam, and good cling to the wavey spray of lacing. The aroma was quite mild, with light floral and herbal hints, citrus and resin, but a detracting wisp of band-aid. The flavor was similar and also mild, yet an even tempered balance of soft malt and moderate "lingering through the finish" hop bitterness. The body was medium, the carbonation was soft, and the hop linked up with some pleasant dryness to finish the sampling. A decent, mild mannered IPA, but shaker, not snifter worthy. drpimento (3669) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 7, 2012
Mild for an IPA. Served a bit on the cold side with a smallish off white head that soon settled to a light cover that lasted the rest of the way down and lots of lace. Color is a very slightly hazy honey amber. Aroma is especially subdued, a little malt, hop, biscuit. Flavor is almost more wet grain than hop, but does have a more durable hop quality. But the hop is tame. Body is a bit chewy, carbonation ok. Finish is like flavor and a little on the short side. Meh.

Sample with food pairing, Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn, 17/12/11. Orange hazy with a thinning lid. Peach air freshener and biscuit aroma. Better, spikier taste; still peachy but with botanical, herbal, piney hop to balance it. Lingering biscuit. Went nice with some very cheeky goat’s cheese if I remember rightly. Tasty. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 25, 2011

On tap at Whole Foods, Pours very hazy amber with 1 finger of dense head and great retention. Aroma is not super "dry-hopped" but instead is heavy on the pine/resin and caramel with the "green" grapefruit notes dancing around the edges. Taste is very well balanced; bold caramel butts up against a hugely bitter resin and grapefruit hop profile. Body is medium, low carbonation, dry bitter finish. illidurit (2345) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 15, 2011
On tap at burger. in Santa Cruz. Pours a dark, dim, orange bronze with a fine white head. Smells like old bread and a failed batch of homemade caramel. How can an IPA on tap smell like it’s been sitting in BevMo for a year? Ah, the mysteries of beer. Taste is just as awful, with belligerent crystal malt, grimy astringency, and a breath of nondescript plant-ish hops. Might be the last east coast ’IPA’ I ever drink. Not good. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - DEC 13, 2011
On tap at Redlight Redlight. Orange amber color with a thin off whitehead. Pine scent and taste. Juicy hop goodness.
