Bottle… Pours almost new-moon black, but shows crimson flashes around the edges of the glass when held up to the Florida Sun. Small, creamy, beige head with good retention. The bouquet is malty, fruity and vinous – singed caramel, milk chocolate, dark port, maple syrup and molasses are the real standouts to my olfactory system. Full-bodied with tingly carbonation. Malty, fruity and sweet. Lots of caramel, molasses, alcohol and berries. Minerally bitterness steps up late in the game. Finishes bittersweet, but the minerally bitterness lingers forever - along with berry fruitiness. dchmela (3089) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Pours a dark brownish black with a thick creamy head. Caramel. toffee, dark fruit, pomegranate and coffee all come popping out in the aroma. Smooth creamy malt taste with tons of dark fruit, toffee, chocolate, cherries. Just a big thick brew that is insanely flavorful. Awesome. Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Square Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Pours a dark black with some ruby red undertones. Sticky, off white head that leaves a tight ring of lacing. Heavy aroma with some strong coffee accents, licorice, brandy, and a wee bit of alcohol. Very full bodied flavor with hints of dates, cherries, chocolate, licorice and a touch of chocolate. Velvety thick, rich mouthfeel. Overall, excellent.
