Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks eyes_wide_shut. Pours opaque black and looks flat. Nose: grapes, fruit and some nuts. Tastes really sweet, syrupy even. Full body, oily, medium aftertaste and indeed, rather flat. Nikiel (879) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 21, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2012 Bottle with Carla. Pours a clear dark brown with tan foam with small bubbles. Smells of caramel, chocolate, coffee and hints of bourbon. Tastes very thick with surprisingly little alcohol burn, hints of maple, brown sugar and chocolate. Dorwart (2589) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - JAN 21, 2012
Minimal head from a pretty vigorous pour. Fills the room with plum and raisin aromas. Strong and pungent aromas that just scream sweetness and complexity. Lots of dark fruit, molasses, brown sugar and some piney hops burried in there somewhere. Color is a very dark brown with a bit of gold around the edges when plaed in front of a strong light. Bascally, a malt bomb in a glass. If you like malts, this is a brew you will treasure. Thick and syrupy with lots of sweet malts, brown sugar, raisins, dates, prunes, plums, basically any type of dried dark fruit you can come up with. Alcohol is present but you would expect so much more heat and burn from a 15% brew. Thick palate and leaves an oily residue in the mouth. Another over the top winner from HeBrew. 22oz bottle. Very dark near-black brown color, a nice, thick lighter brown head (resulting from a more aggressive pour). A real strong dark fruit aroma, maybe some licorice, prunes, chocolate... It’s amazing how this beer manages to a hide the 15% booze taste (highest ABV brew I’ve had thus far), but the aroma that masks it isn’t a really delicious one. Pretty much no carbonation, a sort of syrupy thick texture. Sweet taste, in a dark fruity liquor-y way. Not the tastiest brew, but still very interesting, and not one that I regret getting. I’ll be interested to see what direction they take with Jewbelation Sixteen sherm1016 (1274) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 20, 2012
12oz bottle from Downer Wine and Spirits, part of the 2011 holiday gift set. Pours a deep, dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, nutty, a little smokey, maybe a little vanilla. Medium on the palate with soft, creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, molasses, bread, with a sweet, sugary finish. A very interesting beer. Sweet is the main theme of this beer.

snifter.dark amber color one finger tan head and no retention on the head, clean body.Aroma comes if faces of raisin, caramel and also, alcohol sense. The flavor is caramels, maple syrup, brown sugars sour up front and it finishes with small hints of cocoa. bull thick body DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks eyes_wide_shut. Really dark brown to black with a bit of light brown foam. Aroma of malt, light roastiness, a bit of chocolate, a lot of alcohol and some fruity notes. Very sweet flavor with lots of malt and chocolate, some caramel, nutty Nutella notes and a drier finish. Full syrupy body. Cirrhosis (1283) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 19, 2012
"Very dark cola brown with a thick creamy head for the style, roapy lacing is left behind with every sip. Sweet molasses, grape gum, strange spice, and for some very odd reason now trace of alcohol at the high 15%. Aroma and taste are surprisingly thin, I mean with every ingredient ever made by man thrown into one beer you’d think it would be thick and pungent but its not. Grape, apple, malts and lots of them, more flavour, other stuff, some things that taste like stuff. This is scaryly easy to drink.....15%!!! How!!Where!!!! The taste citrus is really blasting my face now. Beer is also developing a long lasting bitter finish. The sweetness is really starting to build up to massive levels...So very sweet. Three quarters done bottle still no sign of alcohol in the beer but my head is vibrating and "Just for Laughs Gags" is making me laugh. Coffee, mild dark chocolate, astringent is starting show up and medical hops. All Right Peter vs. the Chicken part 3 on family guy...EPIC!!! Back to the beer, been drinking it for close to two ours now, nothing bad to say, solid brew, how is this so drinkable? Vanilla, maybe it’s rum, not sure but has that flavour. Beer is worth the price tag." VertBaconStrips (2389) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - JAN 16, 2012
Beer colour. Smells and tastes like hops and malts were added. Nice beer.patricks110 (2495) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 16, 2012
Update: ruby red highlights up to the light and a small bubbly cap on a rough pour. Sugar, brown sugar, mild to medium roasty things, sharp sour orange similar to when you leave orange juice in the fridge for about 2 weeks too long, molasses, toffee or something, mild spice and a bunch of other things I smell that I’m sworn to secrecy not to disclose. This is unbelievably easy to drink. Smooth and silky on every savoury sip while giving tons of flavours to create a salivation level similar to one second before a grizzly death on Alien or Aliens. Caramel, licorice, oozingly thick goo, molasses, succulent citrus that attacks in late evening sized lakeside waves, hints of chocolate somewhere, sweetness....simply mouth watering - happens repeatedly. Sticky mouth feel with that feeling like I just ate an entire chapstick - when you do that always go with cherry. The only hint of the alcohol is that I’ve had to go back and fix the 78,000 red squiggly lines in my review. Strong flavourful finish with a hint of heat and endless smoothness... my mouth feels just like petting a beautifully cute and soft kitten.. except with my mouth which is kind of creepy but those kittens never judge me afterwards.
An interesting brew. A dark brown pour with a thick foamy tan head that dies to nothing. Massive alcohol leggings on the glass, but not lacing. The nose is sweet, hopped up and alcoholic. Notes of grapefruit, toffee, brown sugar and a mild roast. The taste is potent and quite strong with a nice hop and overly sweet. The 15% ABV is well hidden despite the strong taste. The body is full and slickly sweet. overall, a pretty good brew.
