Bottle shared by sonnycheeba. Pours a dark cola with tan head. Aroma of dark fruit with definite hints of booze. Taste of the darkest fruits with the booze still there and a bit of caramel. Headbanger (4022) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 19, 2014
22oz bottle 6/19/14 (Binny’s Downers Grove)-50° in Snifter-Pours dark brown with a nice sized tan head. Aroma of dried fruits, malt, toffee, chocolate, and caramel. Taste of caramel, malt, dried fruit, and sweetness. This full bodied brew has a lot going on but it is well balanced and goes down smooth. I still don’t know how Shmaltz hides the ABV so well. This beer ROCKS

Draft. Pours deep brown with a tan head. Super rich and sweet, with dark fruits, toffee, rum cake, and caramel. Maybe a bit too sweet, but it works. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 18, 2014
17%!! Kept it in the fridge for a couple of weeks trying to decide between big night and sharing. Found a re-usable cap and split over two nights. Still had a nice head on day two. Kind of wonder at the merits of a 16th hop or malt ingredient but it is fun to celebrate 17 years. Strong beer but smooth. Hops are muted by thick malt. Strong licorice-molasses taste and bitterness. A nice drink.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2017 Bomber from Tacoma Boys. Pours dark brown. Thin tan head. Scent is pretty boozy. Taste is all booze, some dark fruits. Tasty but a little high with the abv. NikkTwist (3409) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2013
Draft at Moriartys. Opaque black pour with a fair amount of khaki foam. Lace. Creamy dark chocolate with hazelnuts. Cherry cordials. Substantial malt flavors. Big and smooth but not may notes. The aroma feels mostly blank. The high alcohol becomes noticeable halfway through. The combo feels like a muted creamy stout that is hiding enough of its alcohol to be way to easy to drink. Good, but could be tweaked in more interesting directions. DocJitsu (2060) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Pours a very dark brown with a big tan head. Mediciny mild horehound nose. Thick sticky mouthfeel. Horehound, sorghum, and alcohol flavors.
