Exactly what you’d expect from a 16% beer with 16 hops and 16 malts-- motor oil. Tasty motor oil.
This stuff is ridicullously thick and ends up tasting more like a stout than anything else to me-- maybe a porter. But it’s really mostly your standard choclatey roasty malt flavors.
Good, but can’t imagine a situation where it’s really what I’d want to drink. I guess maybe nights like tonite, when I didn’t have a big enuff dinner and want to fill up, wnile getting my beer on . . . . makes me crave a hop manna a lil bit. . . . Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - NOV 23, 2012
23 nov 3012, bottle. Dark brown/black. Nose is awesome! Nuts, alcohol, sugary malt, molasses, syrup. Wow. Full body and mildly fizzy, very syrupy. Wow. Just wow! Big alcohol, burnt toast, black coffee, some molasses, faint syrup, fair wood. Wow. Wow.

Bomber from Palm Springs. Pours very dark in color. Looks quite slick and oily. Dark fruity nose. Some fig. Reminds be of a dubbel. Dark and roasty up front. Some roasted coffee along with some sugary sweetness. Full bodied and full flavored. Alcohol is certainly there. Would be a lot better if the alcohol was toned down a little. Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, raisin, plum, light vanilla, roast, and a touch of espresso. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a one inch tan head that quickly fades to a thin film. There is some minimal lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy chocolate, residual sugar, and light raisin. The finish has light-moderate roasted coffee, plum, and light alcohol (not so much burn...but definite flavor). It’s full bodied with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Overall, I’m basing this rating on a small sample. It’s pretty good at first, but it really wore on me as I tried to drink my half of a bottle. Very sweet aroma, banana, chocolate, vanilla. Very dark brown-black, tan head, dissolves fairly quickly. Syrupy body, coffee, toffee, but still sweet caramel too. Boozy. They were going for a big, intense beer and they got it. Not my favorite thing however.

Very very high gravity. Super strong. Pours like molasses. Very malty finish and semi sweet.

Bottled at Scardello tasting. Wow, that’s big but I realize it was a little bit of a gimmick to play on 16. Lot’s of hops, lots of dark malt and lots of dark fruit. Pretty boozey. Bomber---> snifter. Pours a dark amber black with a thick light brown head that takes quite some time to shrink with pretty good lacing. Aroma is sweet fig, heavy alcohol, light smoke, and molasses. So much going on with the taste- dark chocolate, coffee, raisins, black pepper, mild hop bitter, oak, bourbon, vanilla, and booze burn. Palate is very thick- almost chewy (which is a good thing to me) with very little carbonation. Oily black pour with a thin khaki head that fades to nothing. Aroma is molasses, sticky dates, wood, and chocolate. Taste is dark fruits, syrup, wood, vanilla, and some coffee. Aroma: Molasses and coffee. Perhaps a bit of toffee, maple syrup, and raisin. 3/5
Appearance: Fizzy, fair, flat head. 3/5
Taste: Medium body. Creamy and alcholic texture (very hot), fizzy carbonation with a bitter aftertaste.
Overall: Not bad, need to tone down the alcohol.
