UPDATED: JAN 3, 2011 Molasses up the asses here boy’s! The aromatics on this one are very enticing. The frontal assault is very big. HeBrew has these big beers with plum, fig , date, prune flavors down to a science. I am hooked. Barleywineish. Bitter, sweet, sticky, coffee, dark fruit, burnt sugar and very slight coconut. Yum! Hold your opinion and let the beer warm! The alcohol blends well with the rich textures and flavors. 1-3-2011 Fuck it this is incredible! Another 5. Pours a lovely black with a light beige head. Aroma is straight malt of toffee and licorice. Has a very sweet taste with hints coco and toffee. Leaves a clean finish. BrianDorry55 (361) - Spring Hill, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2009
22oz. bottle from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours a dark red-brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is very sweet....Chocolate, licorice, quite a bit of mollasses. Flavor is of bitter dark chocolate, mollasses, black coffee, licorice, and raisins. This is super smooth...medium to thick mouthfeel...Great warm ending. This one doesnt get enough credit...Tastes like a Baltic Porter to me...This on is FANTASTIC. Brian2d (43) - SPAIN - DEC 27, 2009
Drank December 2009. Sweet aroma (maybe trace of bubblegum?). Appearance very dark, but head did not last more than 5 min. Taste too complicated for my humble vocabulary, but VERY well balanced considering the level of malts and hops here. Palate is strong and enjoyable, long aftertaste that sticks to the roof of the mouth. Shaftie (218) - , Maryland, USA - JUN 27, 2010
Good stuff, this on put HeBrew on my radar the first sip. I haven’t braved anything else of theirs yet but I oft grab something I haven’t had from them and put it back down. Quite malty, unevenly so. Very different, nuts, fruit, coffee, chocolate...I don’t like to hit on taste notes in my reviews because I give bad reviews for the average Joe but with all the things this beer distinctly has going for it I figured I might as well. Try it, yesterday.

Bomber. Black with a small spit of head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, coffee, dark fruit and hints of sherry. Complex flavor profile of chocolate, cherry, raisin, caramel, coffee, cookie dough, oats, orange, soy, sherry and oak. Medium-heavy body is creamy smooth, roasty-dry and has some chest-warming. Well-hidden 12% in this tasty dessert. Mazel Tov! trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 18, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 28, 2009 Man was I impressed with this one. Almost no sound at all when I popped the cap, which made me worry it was a bad bottle. At first, the pour didnt seem to have any carbonation - I was sure the seal had been broken, so I gave it a high center pour to be sure. Then the dense, thick head began forming on top - the beer is so thick it took a good few seconds for the head to form. Pours black with ruby accents, and a head the color of the crema on top of an espresso shot. Beautiful. Nose is a bit funky at first, but moves through many different flavors. A bit of smoke, and certainly some chocolate (there are definitely notes of a stout in here), but mostly dark fruits - figs, dates and raisins, and a bit of caramel. MAN is this a thick beer. Mouthfeel is unbelievably thick - I wish it had a bit more carbonation to offset that, but it coats your mouth beautifully and just bursts with flavor. Takes the flavor notes from a Belgian quad - figs, raisins, caramel and even a bit of apple - and adds some of the deep, smokey qualities of an American stout. Far better than the eleven - this is very good stuff.

RERATE 10/28/09: This is even better than I remember it. Just fantastic. Some great slightly tart apple notes countering the sweetness of all those malts, not unlike the HotD Matt. Utterly fantastic balance in here, especially for this much flavor. Not a trace of that 12% - though that could be the extra year of age it has on it. Delicious. nathan30533 (1022) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - JAN 14, 2009
Great strong ale. Undescribable with the twelve hops and the malts. WOW is the only word that describes. Little to Carbd for me be aroma and taste are amazing. Sweet and smoky. Taste of wonderful hops. Great Brew. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 21, 2009
bomber poured into a Delirium Noel Snifter. Pours a deep brown out of the bottle and settles into a nice black with an average tan head... some lacing throughout. Some sweet malt and mild dark fruit aromas. Medium body with some bitterness up front along with some apple, raisin, molasses, plum and sweet banana. The body carries through up top and has a strong somewhat bitter finish along with a touch of alcohol. This is quite delicious and a very solid strong ale. Highly recommended to those who enjoy a dynamic and flavorful body with a bit of strength to round it out. FROTHINGSLOSH (8142) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2009
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large brown head. The aroma was malty and sweet with notes of chocolate and candied dark fruits. The flavor was full with molasses, caramel and candied dark fruits. Touches of bourbon, port wine and cocoa mix through into a long and complex finish. The mouthfeel was very thick and full. Excellent.
