Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a dark, opaque, chocolate-cherry color with a small amount of tan bubbles mostly around the edges of the glass. Aroma and taste are of rich malt and mild hops with some molasses and dark fruit. Medium carbonation. Short, malty ending.

Dark ruby tinted brown. Soft, medium cap of fluffy tannish foam thats fastly dissolved to its skim and collar. Lacing is minimal in a few spots and strings. Aroma is tenderly sweetened with a light roasted caramel/toffee with notes of vanilla, maple, and molasses. Taste is solid with a firmly smooth maltyness of touch and go roasted hints under some fantastic solid tones of toffee, caramel, molasses, nuts, cocoa, and maple. Very firm and boldly set along the palate. Lengthy with just a breath of citric, piney hops towards the finish and lingers nicely with a moderate coating of toasted nuts and caramel. Firm, smooth, medium body thats very fitting and easy going with a slick malty texture that screams to be drank. And by the pint full! A very solid brown.

Not bad, close to a porter with a lot of sweet caramel. More fruit on the tongue. A little watery, maybe that makes it very drinkable. Nice effort.

Bottle. Ruby brown color with a light cocoa-coloerd head. Slight fruit, slight cocoa aroma. Caramel malt flavor with plum/cheery fruitiness and backing coffee tones. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle served just a minute or two removed from the beer fridge in a Duvel tulip. Very dark brown color, short lasting khaki head. Aroma is malty, nutty, chocolate, brown sugar, a mild smokiness and herbal aroma. Smells good. The intial taste is malty, nutty, and woodsy followed by a mild bitterness that offsets the malt. The flavor is not overly complex, but very quaffable. The body is full, but not overly so. Enjoyable beer and a nice compliment to a bowl of chili.

RagallachMC (631) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2006
bottle. Aroma: light toasted malt with a bit of coffee. Brown sugar and toffee and a bit of toasted bread. Appearance: Dark reddish brown with a thin light beige head. Not much lacing. Flavor: Very mild in flavor with some toasted malt, toffee, a bit of dark fruits, slight chocolate. No hop flavor to be found. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery. Carboantion seemed higher than it should be. Overall: Bland, boring, uninteresting. Need I continue?

Dark brown with a so-so head. Not much aroma, a faint smokiness comes through. Nutty flavor with coffee and slight burnt notes. Not too shabby.

deep brown pour w/ hints of ruby in it w/ a nice tan head w/ avg lacing. pretty common brown ale aroma some light nutty notes hints of carmels. Palate is about avg some ok coating and a light carbonation. Flavor has a good amount of nuttiness w/ a decent amount of carmel and light toffees finishes a touch dry. It’s not a bad little brown ale.
