Bottled. Pours a dark amber/ruby color. Malty roasted aroma. Mildly roasted flavor up front. A hint of sweetness. Quite malty along with some nuttiness.

Lots of creamy off white foam ride on top of this almost black, garnet tinged dark brown beer. Brown sugar aroma. Heavy sweet caramel/brown sugar flavor. Liquid Sugar Babies. Slightly over carbonated. Too sweet and one dimensional for me, but this is an easy drinking beer than undeveloped palate would probably find quite enjoyable.

Lowe1983 (1634) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - APR 3, 2006
Pours a dark brown color with a thick brown head. Aroma is of dark furits, sweet malts, and maybe a little hops, but not much. Flavor is the same, Not really that excited about this brew. Not really sure why people are rating it that high, there are a very large number of beers I would buy over this one.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with an average frothy light brown head that diminished slolwy. Light sweet roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Good sweet burnt malt flavor with a small bitter finish of average duration.

Pours very dark brown thick cream colored head. Great roasted malt flavor, and hops, along with a touch of sweetness. Pretty good beer, very easy to drink.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a tan head that fizzed out quickly. Coffee, roast, and some grain in the aroma. Subdue malt flavor of coffee and roast. Light body with a slight carbonation tingle.

OldRaspy (292) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAR 9, 2006
Poured from a 12 oz bottle a deep brown with a slight reddish tint and a small tan head. Aroma was of roasted malts and hops. Flavor was roasted (almost burnt) malts with a good hop finish (coffee like) as the beer comes up in tempature turns more towards a bitter chocolate. Overall not a bad brew.

Very nice reddish-brown body. Pleasant aroma with a uniquely delicious nut-brown ale taste. Hop finish that was not overpowering, but heavily prevalent. Caramel flavors were also present. I was pleasantly suprised with this one.

jercraigs (10886) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2006
Bottle. Ruby tinged brown body, small tan head. Malty aroma, touch of a nutty brown ale bite to it. Sweet malt has plenty of earthy nutty notes as well. Average palate. Not bad. Brewnosers Meeting.

AlchemistZ (493) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2006
Very dark brown in color, just some red, with a thick, tan head. Aroma is milk, chocolate powder, caramel, and a nice, warm nuttiness. Flavor is not as good as the aroma. It is unidimensional and there is a chalky, hardwater character that distracts from the palate and flavor profile. Softer water could make this exceptional.
