Nov. 2006 - Dark as night pour with only slight reddish highlights around the edge. Quickly dissipating head with little lacing. Strong roasted aroma. Rich, full bodied flavor...a touch of caramel along with roasted malts, chocolate and sweet maltiness. Dry mouthfeel. This was one bold, rich brown ale that was anything but a boring example of a boring style. Very good! nicosaya88 (9) - USA - APR 28, 2010 does not count
Definitely worth the 4 bucks!! Very interesting; nice aroma, strong taste and to the point! DarkSong (380) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - JUN 14, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown that is almost black with a medium sized tan head. It has a very nice chocolate malt aroma. It has a espresso and dark chocolate taste to it with some vanilla. This beer is outstanding. I really enjoyed it. mkel07 (6239) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 29, 2011
355ml bottle. Rich chocolate aromas are the first thing that you notice as you pour the beer and then your eyes are to drawn to the heavy brown, black colour and the evn layer of sticky tan foam. Faintly smokey and bitter dark chocolate flavours at first. canuck_j (80) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 31, 2011
AROMA: Hops, some malt some sulphur
APPEARANCE: deep reddish brown, tan 1/4" head that lasts
TASTE: Malty nutty bold taste bigger than a regualr brown ale. sweet notes and a dry finish
PALATE: medium to light body with hops apparent on the tongue and a nice carbonation.
OVERALL: a Big bold balmy nut brown ale with nothing to aplogize for. whaps you in the face with caramel and nuts, finishes with a hop bite. Cool.

Pours a translucent but deep reddish brown. Tight and lasting off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is of cola, toasted malt, cookies. Light bodied. Flavors are toasted malt, dough, and some distant dark fruits. Slightly bitter finish, with more toasty flavors. Packs a lot of flavor for the light body. This pours a dark brown color with a light beige head. The scent is rather mild with hazelnuts. The taste is bold and nutty with a great blend of robust malts, caramel malts, and nuts. The texture is smooth and is an overall pretty good beer. gregwilsonstl (2613) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Brown translucent....smells nutty. Sweet. Tastes nutty...Almond? Fizzy. Delicious. Silvan7 (1264) - Samarate, ITALY - SEP 26, 2013
Bottle @ home. Colore marrone scuro, solo alcuni riflessi rubino. Schiuma color beige scuro. Aroma: Cocoa powder rules the malt scene, and is met with a very light dash of spicy/floral hops. Cocoa tends toward chocolate fudge as it warms. Appearance: Nearly opaque dark brown with a foamy tan head that settles into a creamy tan ring. Flavor: Mostly cocoa up front, but with undercurrents of lightly spicy hops; really surprised by the depth of the malts for a 5.5 beer- cocoa into dark bread. There’s a little citrus/floral kick towards the finish, concluding with a slightly bitter dryness. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, flat carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Overall: In my opinion, a severely underappreciated example of the style.
