(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear, chestnut brown with a reddish hue and a creamy, beige head. Aroma of burned caramel. Very full body, sweetish, burned malt and some nutty accents. The finish is bitter - but not overly so. A nice one. 160607 madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2012

Opaque very dark brown beer. Aged malt nose and a little chocolate. Surprisingly fresh palate, a little bit soft. Minerally malt. Chocolate that isn’t bitter or sweet. Biscuity malt. A little hop left. Smooth and still very drinkable. Wish I had caught this one in it’s hey day. Still good although the hops have clearly faded.
12 oz. bottle, as part of the Jewbelation 8-pack, pours dark, dark brown with a reddish tinge and small beige head. Light aroma of dark fruits (fig, plum, etc.). Flavour of dark fruits and burnt caramel, with a relatively dry body and just a touch of sweetness. Not very ambitious, though it’s quite good.

Quite dark brown in colour. Big, rich aroma with molasses and buckwheat honey showing through. Thick, chewy, molassesy, lightly raisiny character. Sweet, a bit soft, and not showing any alcohol. A bit unfocused, as can be expected with so many ingredients, but a tasty drop nonetheless. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 10, 2011
Draught at Ginger Man in NYC. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of tons of malts, dried fig, raisin, licorice candy, apple and toffee. Medium body. bhensonb (15188) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 28, 2007
Huge amount of carbonation in the pour - much like a widget can. Aroma of flowery hop and piney hop. Dark brown color with ruby transparencies. A tan head that lingers long and laces a bit. Starts with sweet pine, followed by coffee, chocolate and light toasted malt, followed by a warm alcohol burn on the tongue edges, followed by a light persisting sweetish toastiness accompanied by a nice, but refined hop bitterness. This is truly magnificent - except the alcohol burns the esophagus, but no pain no gain. Ratman197 (14826) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 23, 2007
Bomber poured a clear deep brown with red highlights and a lasting amber head. Aromas of brown sugar, prunes, raisins, toffee, light chocolate, a int of vanilla and alcohol. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, chocol;ate, molasses, plum, raisins and spice with a smooth warming lingering semisweet finish. djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 8, 2012
On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a dark brown with large creamy tan head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a light roasted malt and chocolate and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet chcolate and roast with vanilla in the finish. Really enjoyed this one, a very impressive American strong ale from HeBrew.
