Brewed with the juice of over 10,000 luscious pomegranates, ORIGIN is a complex, rich and balanced Imperial Amber Ale with a truly unique character. The pomegranate juice is added during fermentation, leaving only the residual sugars, which serve to balance the hop bitterness.

Surprisingly good. Easy drinking and lightly bitter. Pomegranate is faint and provides a light sweetness. Good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Visual: (cellared for 4 years). Pours translucent reddish brown with a very small dissipating head, ringed retention with thin island, fast steady big bubble streams. Nose: acidic-tangy pomegranate mixed with sweet barley malt. (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: thicker-fizzy-crisp Mid-palate: dissipiting soft sour-sustained tangy acidity, (lvl-6-sweetness), burnt brown sugar & pomegranate, toasted barley malt Finish: pomegranate fruity, toasted malt exhale, subtle soft bitter hops. Summary: I very much liked the wide range of taste sensations incorporating sweet-tangy-acidic-sour-toasted-bitter-alcohol; lots to experience with a very nice balance and mouthfeel.

Aromas of caramel, cherry, pomegranate molasses. Appears reddish brown with small head. Almost like a barley wine but a bit spritzier. Has caramel aftertaste with good balance. Not overly sweet but a bit simple. Okay.

On Draught
Pours a deep orange color with a big head and nice lacing on the glass.

The Aroma is faint and oddly grainy with a little fruitiness.

The flavor has a nice toasty maltiness & a good tart fruitiness. It’s got a little bit of caramel & a bit of bitterness. Lightly sweet, fine.

22 oz bottle from Molly’s Spirits. Hazy reddish amber appearance with a lingering beige head and light lacing. Aroma of fruity esters, caramel, toffee, toasted grain, light yeast, brown sugar, pomegranates and just a hint of alcohol. Similar flavor, fruity and malty with mild sweetness and light hop bitterness. Medium to full body. Not bad overall.

Draft. Clear amber color, small white head that settles quickly. Aroma of booze, subtle poms and light citrus. Taste has subtle fruit, but is pretty boozy for a fruit beer.

Tastes like a lollipop got stuck underneath the car seat. Gross. Not a fan.

TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 3, 2015
22 oz bottle, likely at least 4 years old. Misty orange brown with a few edgy bubbles. Nose is toffee, pomegranate, dank basement and green hay. Dull medium body with a watery tang. Taste is stale bubblegum, clove, dried apple and raspberry jam. Obviously past peak but a bit surprising how far its fallen.

BrewBoxer (2667) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 20, 2015
Draft at a random Irish pub in midtown. Pours a purple brown CPR with a lot of fizz bubbles. Taste comes off as dish soap in the beginning and end with a hint of fruit. Don't know if it's the booze or if the glass or beer were skunky.

Stuedmaster (352) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Aroma of hard candy, grain, and slight tart fruit. Light amber pour with a slight white head that doesn’t retain. Taste is of caramel, tart fruit, high alpha hops. It’s a dry beer overall considering the 8% abv. I think it goes down very well, with the slight sour of the pomegranates and the bitterness of the hops balancing the sweetness of the malt. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, dry finish.
