The very, very dark reddish brown color combine with the strong lack of a head form the appearance of this brew. The aroma fuses the scents of light tequila, caramel malts, roasted malts, and a general sweetness close to sugar cane, and the taste is very well balanced with its mild sweetness, a touch of sourness, and slight umami; furthermore, the palate, I must say, conceals the booze very well with its thin texture, soft carbonation, sweet and umami finish, and full body. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 2, 2013

On tap at Brouwers Big Wood fest. Colour...black with no head. Nose...quite nutty and oaky with whifs of tequila. Palate...mild CO2, plenty of oaky dryness and more of the aforementioned nuts. The tequila is there, but itsx rather subdued. This seems fairly well balanced but wish there was more tequila in the mix.

On draft at Euclid Hall. Pours a hazy brown-orange with a tint off-white head. Nose is HUGE tequila, booze, agave, more booze, sweet chocolate, slight roast, molasses, and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet as hell and could take the paint off a wail. Huge booze, big tequila, wood, booze, agave, brown sugar, molasses, booze, and bits of booze with vanilla. Medium in body and a finish of lingering booze tequila, and lots of heat. This one could age for a bout a decade and settle down maybe around then. Hot as hell and unique, but lots of potential. Poured up on tap at Euclid Hall in Denver with a kind of murky mahogany body supporting a micro thin ring of tan foam. The aroma is big and bruising with molasses, brown sugar stewed prunes and vanilla with a good bit of booze in tow. The taste forces up notes of rich sweet goodness with nectar like molasses and sludgy sweet malts heading into a modest level of vanilla and tequila like boozy notes. Dark brown pour. Is this a beer or just tequila with a little beer? Just kidding. Aroma is all tequila, anejo to be more specific. The base beer, sweet fruit shows a little. Flavor is all tequila and some sweet sticky malt. Wow, big beer. Hard to drink much.
