A very tasty dubbel. Pours a beautiful deep red with a thick tan head. Smells of berries and some malt. Creamy taste, pretty malty with some figs and a smooth finish. Had in the bottle. drfabulous (7813) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - MAY 2, 2014
22 ounce bottle. Dark color. Grape. Pomegranate. Big sweetness throughout. Slightly sticky.Big malt build. Nice. superspak (5504) - Michigan, USA - MAY 1, 2014
22 ounce bottle into chalice, early 2013 bottling. Pours crystal clear deep ruby red color with a small fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, date, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light chocolate, clove, herbal, candi sugar, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast ester, fruit, and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, date, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light chocolate, clove, herbal, candi sugar, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light chocolate, clove, herbal, candi sugar, light nuttiness and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of yeast ester, fruit, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, lightly slick, and fairly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hybrid dubbel style. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of yeast ester, fruit, and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering. ScottWallace82 (97) - Winchester, Virginia, USA - APR 26, 2014
On draft. Pours a clear brown with an off-white head. Smells of caramel, yeast, and fruits. Nice, smooth mouthfeel. Big and boozy, with lots of malty sweetness and dark fruit. A rather good dubbel. douglas88 (9055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 18, 2014
Bomber. Pours a dark cherry color with a medium white head. A fruity nose, clear sweet dates, caramel, toffee. Pretty ingenious beer: big sweet but soft malty doppel elements, a bit of dark burnt toffee, some caramel, toasted malts, fruity, very easygoing sweet fruity is all over the tail. Quite drinkable. I get pomegranate all through it.

Poured into tulip. A slightly hazy UPS brown with a short lasting off white head. Some lacing but not much. Aroma is yeast, banana, and the figs and dates come through. The taste is like my Jewish childhood deserts soaked in Belgian ale. The fig and dates shine through a yeasty abbey beer aroma. Because of the large bottle the warming of the beer caused a decrease in the haze and an increase in the boozey aromas and taste. It sort of became a little whiskey flavored. A little warming and the alcohol was strong in the finish. I enjoyed this very much. crossovert (12642) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2014
Tastes more like a doppelbock to me. Dry and malty doppelbock, basically a doppelbock with simple sugar to boost it. DuffMan (10271) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 2, 2014
Bottle, shared with Grippitis, Parksy, and Faysal. Very deep ruby hue, quite lovely. Aroma is sweet dark fruits, yeast. Malty, darkly sweet palate, lots of figs, with a heavy yeast signature that speaks Belgian. A little on the sweet side to enjoy in great quantity, but a great one to share. Side note: Hebrew has the chit-chattiest labels out there! Ron (3920) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet caramel, molasses, toffee, banana, and clove aroma and flavor has a big burnt grain and clove finish. Medium thickness and the alcohol is noticeable. Thick sticky palate. Nice complexity. Boutip (6321) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 24, 2014
Bottle: Poured a burgundy color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of dry fruits with loads of residual sugars notes. Taste is a mix between molasses, dry fruits, some plums and raisins with load of caramel malt. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation and light warming alcohol. Interesting but too sweet for its own good.
