12 oz. bottle (though it was labeled as a 22 oz.) poured into tulip. Pleasant clear reddish-brown color with a couple fingers of creamy tan that quickly dissipates. Faint earthy aroma with some dark fruity notes from the dates and figs. The flavor is well-balanced with malty Belgian brown ale with some tart fruitiness on the back end a some alcohol warmth. freckles614 (3) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 14, 2014 does not count
Malty backbone balanced by the different hops. Dates and fig add a touch of sweetness but do not over power the beer. It pours a gorgeous auburn/amber color with a light head and medium body. Flavor is unique and distinctive, quite a tasty beer. GSH1976 (307) - Delaware, USA - JAN 8, 2014
Pours a murky brown with about one finger of khaki colored head. Aroma is malt, dark fruits, toffee and some bread notes. Taste is sweet and follows the nose with a little bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and a little creamy. DocLock (10689) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2014
Pours hazy dark brownish with tan head. Nose is earthy, dark fruit musty. Tastes of earthy malt, vinous fruit, some finishing tartness. This one is solid. jflopsu (1615) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Pours amber. Has a malt and dark fruit aroma. Taste is more grapey than most dubbels with some spices and malt.

Poured from 1pint (6 fl oz) bottle. Clear copper brown with dissipating beige head. Predominant dark fruit aroma with some caramel malt. Flavour starts off with dates, moves into a strong fig flavour and finishes with very subtle hops. Sweetness is there, but not quite as much compared to other strong belgians as it gets cut off at the end. Medium, sticky body. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2013
12 oz bottle with a 22 oz label. Deep purple brown with a thin beige haze. Nose is yeast, toffee, date and sticky apricot. Syrupy, medium to full body with a buzz. Taste is dates, caramel, cardamom and fig finishing with burnt sugar. Unusual hybrid but it works quite well; the fruit adding a nice touch. doublebock (558) - California, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Appearance: Transparent Copper color with foamy beige head
Aroma: Yeasty with sweet dark fruit
Taste: Dubbel hefe like profile upfront with the ginger figs and dates coming in on the back end
Overall: Tastes very similar to a raisin brown all I brewed-would have preferred a bit more maltiness Palidor19 (3188) - Brandon, Florida, USA - NOV 28, 2013
It's a great seasonal brew with taste of dark malts and dark fruit. Taste of figs, earth and toffee make this a fine holiday treat

The aroma is sweet and fruity with figs, caramel and earth. The appearance is light brown. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall nice.
