4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
26th July 2011
Opaque black - brown beer. Good sized fluffy pale tan head. Nice oaky nose. With 7 years worth of Jewbelation blended I was expecting a thick black tar of a beer, but the palate is surprisingly light. Also smooth and soft. Nice oaky vanilla dark malt with mild coffee. Creamy malt and a little rye spice. Sweet mild whisky. Subtle generic fruits in the undertone. Smooth finish. Really nicely joined up and very drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle, as part of the Jewbelation 8-pack, pours dark with a tan head. Oaky aroma, with vanilla, molasses and dark fruits. Flavour of caramel, oak, vanilla, molasses and wood. The rye finishes it off, with a slightly bitter and alcoholic finish. This seems more like an experiment that came out to whatever it was rather than something uniquely crafted. That said, it is great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: The pour is a dark brownish-amber color with a finger or two of off-white head.
S: Sweet caramel, toffee, and brown sugar on the nose with plenty of barrel notes. Lots of oak and whiskey coming through with a sweet vanilla aroma. Dark fruits such as raisins and plums are also present.
T: The rye whiskey and vanilla flavors are fairly potent. Nice charred oak notes with the sweet toffee and caramel. The raisin flavor provides some additional sweetness and more depth.
M: Medium in body with a smooth feel on the tongue.
O: I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I’ve had lots of lackluster beers from He’brew, so this was a nice change.
