Bottle: Amber, hazy, big creamy off-white head, metal and vegetables in the nose, unexpectedly fruity-wheaty traces, too; harsh sweet-sourish flavour, slim; short metallic-sourish finish. One of the worst samples of this style…

Hefetrübes Bernstein mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, Röstaromen, etwas Nuss, Vanille, spritzig.

Draught in Heidelberg, Germany. Again, not the most exciting variant of the style but well done brew of crisp nut and chocolate and balanced light hay and malt.

Smalle (222) - Leuven, BELGIUM - APR 11, 2014
Very hazy amber. Nose: ok, hay, grain, banana. A bit more grainy than the regular Weizen. Taste: ok, quite similar to the regular weizen.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes braunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, röstmalzig, leicht fruchtig würzig. Geschmack hefig, leicht würzig, leicht fruchtig.

Enjoyed at the Rasstube during my stay in the Sinsheim / Durhen area of Baden Wuttemburg while missing three different umlauts while typing this review. I didn’t take tasting notes while imbibing but overall this was a good, decent dunkel. Would definitely enjoy again.

(bottle) pours a murky amber-brown colour with a fizzy beige head. aroma of caramelized banana, pears, light roasted wheat, almonds and a hint of ash. flavour is mostly the same, with heavy notes of caramel, light white grapes, milk chocolate and a hint of raisins, a tad too sweet. medium-bodied with lively carbonation.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours amber in color with a creamy tan head. Wheat, light earthy tones and hints of fruityness in aroma. Chewy mouthfeel as expected. Ripe banana and perhaps some faint hints of chocolate in taste. Sweet wheat in finish. Pretty nice dunkelweizen.

500 ml bottle. BB 23/05/13. From bierzwerg.de.
Dirty muddy brown colour with a huge fluffy light tan head. Bready wheaty aroma with some minerals, metal, chocolate and toffee. The flavour is chocolate toffee, bread, wheat and mild yeast. Thin. Hmm... I can’t say I like this.

Bottle from bierzwerg.de. Hazy amber color with huge quick disappearing white head. Aroma of caramel, banana. Taste, banana, wheat, yeast, some roasted notes, caramel. Fruity finish. Drinkable.
