On tap at Heiden Peter's in Berlin. Hoppy and bright on the nose. Pours a cloudy brown. Strong flavor but well balanced, hops and malt. Good nite. Very nice brown. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Heidenpeters. Black pour with a caramel head, aroma is Nutty, malty, toffee. Taste is roasty, malty, coffee, hops bitterness and light alcohol on the finish, light body, soft texture, gentle carbonation. Wonderfully fresh and delicious, it was clearly in perfect condition and that made the beer absolutely amazing

Sie kŲnnen es drehen, wie sie wollen. Selbst ein Brown Ale kommt hier wie eine Hopfenbombe. Diesmal aber jedoch mit einer netten Portion Karamell, Malz und Zucker. Nicht schlecht.

It pours out of the bottle (thank you, Culchiem!) in a deep medium brown colour with steady head and medium body. Wonderful aroma of hops and nuts. Taste of fresh but intense hops, nuts, coriander, earthy spices, pine and light caramel. Finishes off dry and light bitter and very, very quaffable. Highly enjoyable. I am a big fan (thank you, Mel!) of Heidenpeters and this one is just another gem of this brewery. Really, I donít care what style is mentioned - when a Brown Ale tastes like a big IPA who am I to complain about it? Big beer!

I expected a brown ale, while this was like a ipa or something overhoppied. Unclear orange body with a thin offwhite head. Aroma is piney, taste is mild bitter, some resin again. No nuts, no sugar, no roasted malts. A bit disappointing

I always find brown ales to be a little thin in some way and this was no exception. Could have had a little more caramel or roasty flavour. Also not a whole lot going on in the nose. But it was solidly made, and tasted fine, just not something I would buy for myself.

Draught. Dark brown with a firm cream head. Aroma is roast malt. Flavour is roast nut, brown sugar with a smoky base. Finish is dry sweet.
