The aroma of this beer is a mixture of dough yeast and roasted malts, and the appearance is a clear mahogany color with a small off-white head that fades to a ring quickly. The taste is surprisingly good with a mixture of slight umami, touch sweet, and slightly sour, and the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, malty finish, and a soft carbonation.

Dark amber color; Medium body; Aroma of malt, & some grain; Flavor of slight roasted malt, nice caramel, and light hops; Decent macro brew.

This a very smooth and rich beer, it's the finest beer from Heineken. The malts are nice and toasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

After only knowing of the regular Heineken for my whole life, discovering this piqued my interest. I gave it a try, and what a beer. Not comparable with regular Heineken. This dark later is easy to drink and has a nice strong malty taste.

Bottle at Giovan’s. Deep reddish brown, kinda newcastle colored. Offwhite head. Nose is actually kinda neat. Low molasses notes and cocoa, pale malt, faint hop. No skunk. On tasting, super clean and fresh with a light roast note trending towards cocoa. Super drinkable and likable. Huh.

Semi- transparent red-brown with a creamy, light brown head. Aroma is toast, caramel. Taste is malty, chocolate, caramel. very sweet. Tasty, but a little watery. Wayyyyy better than regular Heinie.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown body with a small fizzy off-white head that fell to a thin wispy film. The nose is sweet with some lightly husky toasted malt and burnt caramel. Tastes very sweet with burnt caramel and husky chocolate malt. Finishes very bland and leaves some sticky sweet residue long after you swallow. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. I think I’d choose the regular Heineken over this, and that’s saying something.

Poors thin but dark. Very little to no head. Taste is malty and sweet, not unpleasant. Mouthfeel is thin and finish is weak and slightly sour ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark; minimal head. Reasonably pleasant nose. Easy drinking, slightly rich with moderate chocolate/mocha flavor. Clean finish. Definitely an improvement on the original.
