Bottled. Ruby red colour, small brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, earth and some grass. Flavour is sugar, sweet malts and mild notes of earth in the finish.

Just plain disgusting from the first sip, and it didn’t get any better along the way. Thin and fizzy, like cola without carbonation.

GRDSED (1) - USA - NOV 5, 2007 does not count
While in Europe I am disappointed by fluids. The Wines are astringent except for the German Auslese. The Beers are either too carbonated or have bad aftertastes. Water seems like a cop out. The sweet oude bruins are a wonderful drink with street foods. A great replacement for Soda and yummy in their own right. 2nd Best choice Leffe Brune.

Bottle, bought in some Dutch supermarket. Pours a clear dark mahogany with a very fizzy head. Am I pouring Coca-cola, now? Aroma is dark caramel. Thin, fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet and quite vomit-inducingly so. Some caramel - might as well drink a bottle of "kulør"... yuk!

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 21, 2007
Clear dark caramel coloured, fading off-white head. A fine children’s drink. Blueberry and cherry flavours containing a soda-pop character. A fruitier root beer with strong, overwhelming sweetness. Thin bodied enough to be drinkable though.

it’s difficult to remain neutral while reviewing something you don’t like .... and this brew is definitely not to my personal liking ... while pouring I actually had quite some expectations, the color is very dark black, almost opaque, the head was firm and steady ... the smell was not very spectacular, which I explained for myself to be a result of the chill (I poured it at 6 degrees Celsius) ... the taste ... well, best described by "Dry Pepsi Light with a hint of malt" ... says it all I guess ... again, I am not saying this is a bad beer, I am just stating I don’t like it ...

TaxiDriver (1775) - Stadland, GERMANY - AUG 1, 2007
Bottle. Heavy malty, sweet cookies. Dark brown-red colour, Average off-white head, creamy, mostly dimishing. Heavy sweet flavor, average duration. Light body, syrup texture, lively carbonation.

mike_77 (6669) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - JUN 4, 2007
Looks like cola. Almost no aroma detectable, only a slight sweetness is apparent in the smell. The texture is thin and fizzy (just like cola). Flavour is bland and sweet (just like cola). There’s no trace of hop or malt only a sticky sugary sweetness. It may be somewhat refreshing, but so is tap water...

auderale (605) - Minot, North Dakota, USA - APR 16, 2007
Brown colored pour with quick moving head. Sweet, malty, caramely aroma with a very sweet, slightly bitter finish.

Storm (2684) - Amager, DENMARK - APR 6, 2007
Bottle. Reddish brown colour with a little head. Light aroma of caramel and hints of toffee. Sweet flavour of malt and grainy. Very sweet and very uninteresting.
