Slight malts, sugar, sweet, that’s it.
Ruby/brown beer with a fast disappearing off-white head.
Sweet and malty, nothing else really.
0.3 l bottle from local AH, bottled just over a month ago. Clear, very dark red with a medium large, soapy, quickly diminishing, tan head. Musty, sweetish-malty aroma of nuts, sugar and caramel. Sweetish-malty taste of sugar and caramel, followed by a short, minimally bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy to sticky mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Less sweet than expected, apart from a musty note in the aroma quite enjoyable. One-dimensional of course, nevertheless okay. tricksta_p (4763) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - SEP 28, 2015
Bottle at home. Aroma of sugary malt, caramel, sugar, coca-cola. Flavour is insane sugary sweetness. Weak watery body. I wouldn’t force this upon my worst enemy. dutchbeerpages (2439) - Wilnis, NETHERLANDS - AUG 9, 2015
Of all the styles in beer this is the only one I detest. So sweet and sickening. Gangstergafje (1149) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 3, 2015
The beer is pitch black at first sight. A little more investigation reveals a red is glow. The beer pours a thick layer of light brown foam, which disappears to leave almost nothing. The smell isn’t that great. It smells oxidizes and has a metal hint. There is a unpleasant bitternes. The first taste impression is: added sugars. The beer tastes unnaturally sweet. It is to sweet, it isn’t in balance. There isn’t much good to say about the taste. I expected a brown ale like beer, don’t ask me why. This is a moldy old beer, the name doesn’t surprise me (oud bruin = old brown). There is a bitterness in the beer that reminds me of the fact that I am drinking beer. The palate is also rubbish. The amount of gas is to low. Blegh.

Dark brown, no foam. A: sweaty socks, cane sugar, caramel, hint of prune, hint of cough syrup. T: very sweet, almost liquid sugar. Sour undertone, bock. Development is sweet. Low abv works against it. Aftertaste is sweet. RW80 (2588) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 15, 2015
Appearance: Deep dark color with a tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Very Sweet Caramel.
Taste: very sweet caramel, brown sugar, rasisins light bitterness.
Medium light to medium body and below average carbonation,.Oily texture.
It’ might be toosweet, too one dimensional and yet I can appreciate it moer as the standard Heineken. .The only problem for me is, is this a beer while it’s very close to a good German Malt drink. King_Alex_II (1228) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 25, 2015
Dark brown color with nice light brown foam head. Very thin smell and very non beer like taste. A lot of caramel without being too sweet. Impressive, but not worth getting your hopes up, since you thought you were buying a beer. (However the Heineken tag could have warned you). SinH4 (4971) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAY 25, 2015
Brown color with okay beige head. Aroma of metal and caramel. Taste of caramel, malt, sugar. Tastes mostly like karamalz. Drinkable, but just... meh. DutchMark (398) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 18, 2015
As bad as all the reviews suggest. I should have read them first. It does not taste like beer in any way at all. It tastes like chalky mineral water with caramel and sugar added. Even as a non-beer drink it is not nice. Aparenty a traditional product can be realy realy bad.
